hey guys, glad to be a member of the H.A.M.B. I have a 52 chevy two door Deluxe (350- auto), soon to be my daily driver, curently getting high altitude nose bleeds, where can I get drop spindles for the stock front end? Also ANY other info. Thanks and looking forward to meeting fellow rodders.
Welcome to the HAMB. There are a lot of people on here with 49-52's that you can learn from. Use the search to find quite a bit of info about these cars.
get some for a 53 or 54 and cut 1 coil, get some shorter shocks and you'll be money ahead. that should net a 3" drop. If you want it to be low, and have disc brakes to whoa that 350 down, aftermarket front ends actually end up being cheaper.
Welcome twotone ya picked a great site for info. welcome from da ROCK Mines a 52 bis coupe, 350 /m22. post pics!!!
Welcome from West Georgia twotone , you can find the dropped spindles (uprights) and steering arms at "Fatman Fabrication". They have an online catalog also. Rod & Custom or Street Rodder recently did a magazine article on the lowering of '49-'54 chevys with stock ft suspensions. I hope this helps. Cooter
Up early (4am) and thought I would take a look at the HAMB! I am trying to finish a 51 Fleetline w/Tuned Port and 700R. Used a Height's MustII front end with 2" dropped spindles and Chassis Engr. rear spring set up. Seems to set just about right! Been retired for 4 years and just started back to work and it's killing my project. Looked at some wiring yesterday and couldn't fiqure out where half the wires were going. Painted the plenum yesterday and been up this am trying to fiqure all the vac lines and assorted stuff out. Whenever you let a project set for a while, like even a month, you have to start the R&D all over. My goal is to be done by Oct 1 for the Goodguys show in Fort Worth. Good luck on your project.
