Well.... after 15 hour days since labor day... We got the Baremetal pickup running and driving Friday. It moved under its own power for the first time in 40+ years on friday at about 2 o'clock. we backed it out of the garage, filled up the tank with gas and headed to downtown Appleton for the "Licence to cruise" car show. It started raining, but we went anyways IN BARE METAL.... The truck ran pretty good, and we entered it in the show (which is a FREE show of about 500 cars parked down the main drag of downtown Appleton.) we drove through tons of people and tons of cars with the unbaffled zoomies in the rain and people seemed to really like it. we sat there in the rain for 5 hours and hung out around the truck causing trouble and barely escaping a $180 open beverage ticket.......

the show ended at 10 and it was really raining hard, so we cruised home, and loaded it up for our trip to goodguys. driving this thing in the rain is a riot, the front tires throw rooster tails super high. this thing is too fun. I think the police really got a kick out of us when we went by the police station in the rain with the exhaust.

so off to GOODGUYS we went, we had it loaded in the trailer, and headed on our 100+ mile trip. we stopped at jefferson saturday, and milled through the swap meet, and scored a set of 600 dollar headers for our "next project for $100. We camped overnight, and entered GOODGUYS Sunday morning. It was cold and ****ty but we parked all by our self. Later BLEED pulled in and then the cheaters and it was pretty fun then......... all in all I had a super fun weekend, but I cannot wait until the pileup....... LUKESTER

Yep, Luke done good, I'm proud of him. That truck is AWSOME.

It was funny, Luke went piss or something and I was standing by his truck making up stories that he built it in less than two weeks and that he fabricated the valve covers on a bean bag chair.

One ***gy***guy made a "Shine" reference so I told him that the wheels and tires were the origional ones off the Shine truck and that he and Luke were 3rd cousins and they were having a family fued over Ford vs Chevy trucks.

Yeah I'm really excited for Luke. The truck is a lot bigger in person than I thought it would be and he got the stance nailed. I like that the big front tires make it look kind of lanky, just like Luke himself.

    Looks good moving too.

Besides the naked truck and my favorite little homos the Cheata's, The show was SUPER LAME. I tried to have an open mind, but it still ****ed. I guess I'm too much of a DirtBag for the GoodGuys?

  21. Man, that is one kick-*** truck! Nice work.

    BIG BALLS!

I went to the License to Cruise show. It was raining and most of the cars were lame. (Lukester Rules) Mostly muscle with plenty of bondo, and "destroyed" old stuff. What I mean by destroyed is: a total lack of a theme. Mix a little 70's with a lot of 80's and then put some wood(???) on the dash, hang a few billet items on it and call it a "Street Rod". Sickening!

The truck looks sweet!!! I wish I could have made it back on sunday to see her. Great job Luke!!!

  25. Went to the show early Sunday AM and saw Lukes truck, it was "Great" seeing the people gravitate to the truck "Like Moths to the Flame!" [IMG]

BoBleed and the Cheaters arrived a little later, and all of the "GooGays" were wondering how to replicate all the fabrication out of Billet! [IMG]

Great to see traditional cars in the midst of the shiney!

Very nice there Luke. I wish I could have seen it in person, but have watched all your progress pics of the build-up and the final product is proof of your great fabricatiuon and planning. Have fun with it, looks like a definite blast to drive.
