Hello Fellow HAMB'ers...I have been a member for a while now but have never posted til today. I want to get everyones opinions on the look of my '53 Chevy p/u. White 53, hoodless, chrome steelies (but am considering black steelies and plan on WWW's with them). Just finished filling ALL holes in the firewall, painted cowl and firewall and have new motor (95% complete) almost ready to go in. Air ride currently being worked on right now...so she will sit alot lower (like my lil bro's truck, the flat black 53...also a fellow HAMBer). Thanks for any opinions you can give. Hopefully my vision of what I want will be done before Summer hits! You can go to link below and hit HOTRODS then click on the truck! tilleysspeedandcustoms.com

Bare with my fellas...I'm trying to figure out why it isnt working??? I can type the same site in GOOGLE and it works fine? Just not as a link on here? I'm workin on it.
These threads always seem to turn out bad for the original poster. One word of advice, don't get upset if some people don't like your car.
Welder...thanks buddy for fixing that. I actually went back in & edited the original and got it to work as well. Thanks again though. Zombie...it's all good buddy. In the end, we build what WE want right? I do just like to hear what others have to say. Sometimes it may be exactly what I was thinking too sometimes may be a new idea to think about... I'm not the type to get pissy with anybody over their opinion. You guys rock and I appreciate you taking the time to look. Tater.
The hoodless look on this model of truck doesn't work for me. I know, to each his own but the truck needs the hood to look complete. I run a louvered hood and that has it's issues too. I think if the white truck were mine I'd section the hood a bit at the front to take that high nose look out of it and go from there. Your Little bro's truck is one of the best looking flat black AD trucks I have seen by the way.
Mr48...MAN...my brother will be happy as S**T to hear you say that. As for mine...we actually thought about pie cuttin' the hood some! Wasn't sure though...I didn't want to screw up the lines of the truck by accidentally cuttin' too much. I would love to get my hood louvered for when I do run it. Have a guy who is semi-local (an NSRA rep) who can do it. Thanks for looking buddy.
real nice but needs hood, i would switch to painted steelies only cause your grill and bumpers are painted
Ya know, my opinion isn't worth much...but I offer it as constructive criticism only,...ANY fat fender car looks absolutely stupid without a hood...I get the impression the owner is trying to have a "hot rod"...but cannot afford a 'hot rod"...early square bodied cars are 'hot rods"...fat fendered 40's, 50's or 60's cars/trucks ARE NOT. Chrome the bumpers and the grille...add a tonneau cover to the bedand toss on some nice pin striping and slam it a bit more... Again, that's MY opinion... R-
looks good low! those trucks have to be low or they look goofy to me. Dress up that engine a bit with some finned stuff and it's just right!
Thanks folks for all the encouraging words. I suppose I am on the right track...most of the ideas you guys suggested are ones that I am already planning (black steelies w/ WWW"s, lowered more w/ air ride, and have a new motor, fully dressed to go in it) I will definitely keep you guys posted once back together. Tater
