Kingman, Arizona Street Drags

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by C9, Apr 9, 2008.

  1. Kingman in September, too bad they couldn't have it when it's not 120 degrees in the shade. Sounds like a neat event however...and there is that new In-N-Out Burger in town...

  2. Yeah, the In-N-Out is a busy place.
Best times to hit it during the day is 1100 or 1400.
Even so, it's not a long wait.

    September can be funny here.
Last year it almost got rained out, I said to heck with it - wuz gonna drive the 32 down and race it - came back a couple hours later, sunshine and a nice day.

Ever been to Kingman, Kerry...??? It's hot, dry and in the desert...but it's only a few miles from Laughlin,Nevada and Bullhead City, a few more from Vegas...and a few from Lake Havasu City, home of the London Bridge...

C9...is Kingman famous for anything...other than street drags...??? (Or YOU...???)

I need to make it up for this. I made it to the first one I beleive it was. Quite the deal watching them run down the street!

    Might have to run something!

Never been down that way. I'm going to have to make a point to get out that way.

Kingman was also one of the first legs in the RT66 "tour". Supposedly, if you were to drive from Santa Monica, Ca to Illinois along 66...your first day would end in Kingman. Its also got a pretty good pizza parlor that Oprah likes -- or so says the wife....

  10. That would be Mr. D's.
A 50's styled diner with great burgers and the like.
