Anybody remember, or know what happened to the really large wrecking yard that was in Corsicanna Tx? I would lie if I tried to give street, or road names, but it was across the road from a set of railroad tracks, the tracks actually crossed the road by the entrence. All you could see were hundreds of old cars. There was a building kinda close to the road that had some cool stuff in, and around it ( I remember at least 1 Edsel ). Place was huge, but it was always closed, and the last time I went out there (several years ago) everything was gone. Just wondered if anyone knew anything about it.
Hmmmm .. are you thinking of the one by Cleburne ? Sounds just like that place, its all gone now, all gone ..
I have no idea who it belonged to they were always closed when I went by. But it was in Corsicanna, kinda off the beaten path, but if you ever seen this place you would know were I was talking about. Its been gone for several years now.
An old man who lived close to me( he died in sept.) had an *** load of old stuff I bought a shoebox from him. Anyway he said he moved most of the stuff he had here from that area probably at least 10-15 years ago. I think there is like 500 cars out here.
Poe Boys , 15th street , been closed since the late 80's . Walton Poe sr. died in RioVista TX a couple of years ago ! My dad was a pallbearer . He sold the place , they were sapose to keep selling parts , but they started crushing ! He would hall cars all night out of there to keep them from crushing them . He was a good guy !Would give credit to anybody ! But he hated HOT RODDERS and long hair !
Ok... Cool, Thanks Heavy, and Peckerhead 28! I knew someone here would know where I was was talking about. I some how found that place back in like 89, or 90, but it was always closed. So alot of the cars did get saved? And now are in Blum? Where the hell is Blum!?! I grew up in Red Oak, so I'm not that sure of some of the smaller towns in or around Coriscanna. I'm interested in seeing whats out there if that is possible. I'm always buying/selling/trading something, and always in need of parts. Or if they are selling complete cars I would be very interested.
Have you looked at that place called "County Line" or something like that on I-35 in Red Oak? It's no Poe Boys, but they get some cool stuff every now and then. There's also some little car lot that sells some interesting cars on I-45 around Ferris, but don't get me lying as to where exactly.
The lot on 45 (Ferris) is gone, at least not with old cars. Country line (Red Oak) has some stuff, ans somewhat decent on prices.
Are you just looking to walk a yard to see stuff ? The guy in Sanger has a great collection , its all higher than giraffe ***** though But , lots to see ..
