my sons first ride

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by loc8tor, Apr 10, 2008.

  1. Picked up my sons new ride today. I have been trying to get it picked up for about a month. And finally all the schedules lined up and it wasnt raining.
The owner was glad to hear a Teenager was gettting it, he said that its good to know that there are still young men intrested in the collector car hobby.
This will be his driver, the 53 Chebby truck in the garage will be his rat rod(its also his senior cl*** project, so I need to help him get it moveable....doesnt have to run, but boy it would be nice!)

How cool it is to share the whole "car experience" with your dad!! Your son is lucky and proud I'm sure! My dad bought my 1st car for me...'31 Ford roadster when I was 14! Spent 2 years building the car and then sold it to my drawing teacher. I was in the garage at 5 yrs old trying to help...38 now. My 7 yr old daughter is now just like me, asking how she can help with daddy's truck. I LOVE IT!!! I also love the fact that her mom hates that her daughter is that way, hahaha...did I mention she was my "ex" wife now!!

Just talk him out of selling it when he gets older, otherwise he'll be like most of everyone else here, and regret it.

I'm keepin' my first car...or hot rod anyways!

  18. Yea, hes excited, and has virtually talked me out of selling my 64 2+2. My daughter now 22, wasnt into the "old timey" as she calls them cars, so her first was a 1980 Trans Am clone, she still has it, and its still unfinished. She was to busy to help with the build, and I guess so was I.
I have my 55 driver, and the 64 will be soon, sooooo, now its time to help out the munchkins.
Not sure how bad the ole 389 2bbl will be on gas, and yea, its got a large rear "seating" area......LOL
