Well, as someyou know, I owe the reason I am into this hobby to my Dad. Which most kids my age do.

Well, I am turning 20 in a few weeks, and have moved out recently on my own. and been spending a lot of time helping my Dad with his new truck.

But this isn't about me. It is about the 1959 Chevy Truck My Dad and I are building for him.

He has been following this truck since 1977 when his friend from school was building it.

After about 20 years of this truck being around town just sitting on a side street by his house, My Dad gets the itch one day after work to go see if he would sell it...He made him a deal and Pops got the truck.

My Dad was born in '59 and always wanted a '59 Chevy, but he was always a Cadillac man. Well that is why this truck fits, Bruce who owned it before put a 472 Cadillac Motor in it and Cad Rearend.

    Blah Blah Blah

Here is the truck, when we got it it was about 20 colors of primer and looked like a 1980s street rod. We are slowly coverting it back to what it needs to be a Sleeper Work truck.

So Far we did the Tires, new wheels and Cadillac Hub Caps, powder coated grille and light bezels,We made Valve covers out of a rusted set of '56 Caddys and some of the stock 472s so they have the Cadillac Script. and just cleaned it up, I welded a bunch of holes in and we are slowly doing body work, it is all now in grey primer.

Future plans are Drop Axle, New lowered leafs, fleet side bed and all nice grey paint...

The truck is his daily driver/work truck.

    Thanks and enjoy.

I was at a recking yard one day and found a set of fucked up 331 valve covers laying near the junk yard dogs water bucket.

they were rusty, but the script was perfect, so I got them and took them to class with a set of 472 valve covers I had at the shop and cut them to make them work.

Somewhere I have some pictures of them cut up and when I found them.

Man let me know on that bed.

The bed on this truck is in really good shape, tell him if he wants it we can work some sort of trade.

Check the parts classifieds, satinblack has one listed for $500. He's in Lancaster. No affiliation to seller, just noticed it yesterday.

Here's one of those "it's none of my business" posts. Don't replace the bed with a fleetside. I love the fenders on those and think It degrades them to make it like most others . That said, do it your way, I've had my feelings hurt before.:rolleyes::D

I have been in contact with him, but Lancaster is a bit far, and My dad has found one around here.

Satinblacks bed is in great shape, and he sent me good pictures of it, it is well worth the money.

Thats fine with me, I like the step side bed too, but he has always wanted a '59 Fleet side...If it were up to me I would leave the step side bed.

But we do have a good picture of one of his in school and it looks really good with the fleet side bed.
