Well, as long as your getting "good" news it looks like I'm not going to be able to come either. Held off telling you until I was certain.
Tell Courts brother he is officially standing in for me. I'm sure he can cover for me, I'm not known for being to bright. Besides I've taught Lucky 77 everything I know so it will be just like I was there.:)

Sounds good Frank. Thanks for the offer. Eli will probably sit with a Nintendo DS before he dozes off.

Scott, if the weather ****s, don't kill yourself to get here! It is a long *** haul. 125 miles to Frankenmuth and you are another 25-30 after that. I'm not saying don't come, I want you there. I'm saying, don't risk it if the weather ****s. Call me in the AM before you leave so I can tell you what's up here.

    If anyone else needs a weather/direction report: 734 276 0562

    Thanks! Dan

Do you need anything else? I have a salamander and a full tank of propane. Jack, jack stands? I have a multimeter if you want to figure out the ignition panel. I've still got Frank's brake stuff. I'll have to ask him if its okay to bring it down there. I know he charged somebody rent for taking his trailer out of state without permission. If those tools show up in a picture I don't want to have to empty out my wallet:D. I'll grab the valve cover gaskets tonight. What else does Court need? I have some old intakes and a carb or two.

I have a bunch of jack stands but my multimeter is junk (note to self, don't leave in rain!).

I'm leaving in a few to get the new calipers, rotors, and brakes. I've got a drum brake tool but I haven't checked them all out yet since I just bought a rear end at lunch time to swap in (4x4 S10).

Enjenjo said he's got some brake stuff as well, line and flairing tools, that he'd bring. We'll make sure we edit pictures of Frank's tools before posting! Besides' we are close but we aren't out of state. 6 more miles!

I picked up the front brakes, calipers, and rotors, a bucket of grease to repack the bearings, a jug of fluid and 2 cans of brake clean. I also grabbed a cheap steering wheel puller ($5 pile).

    Here are my goals:

    Rear axle swapped.
    Brakes on and plumbed.
    Trans bracket fabbed and installed.
    Steering column secured.

    Maybe:
Intake manifold mounted (need gaskets and bolts).
Exhaust manifolds mounted (need gaskets and studs).
Swap water pump and mount up PS/Alt. Need to fab a bracket for the exhaust manifold to PS pump.
Whatever you guys think we should do!!

I didnt use exhaust manifold gaskets on my SBC..but than again they were headers and the flange was very nice and flat. I got away with only using Hi-Temp RTV still working fine.

If anybody has a cheap header set up that they want to bring along for a test fit, I'd be pleased as pie. We have stock rear dump manifolds but they are very close to the steering shaft.

Enjenjo is pretty exceptional at sorting these things out so I'm really glad he said he'd come. We won't have the caliber of shop and tools that he's used to so if we can't finish it, at least he should be able to point me in the general direction.

Do you have a welder? or access to 220? I see we have a little fabbing to do. I plan on leaving here around 8:00 or so, see you guys in the morning.

I've got a 110 welder and a generator that will do 220. The fabbing will be minimal.

Don't forget my number so you can yell if you need to.

    Sloppy Joe for lunch OK?

Damn that was fun! I'm bushed.

TERPU, you were there in spirit, I wore my Winchester Auto shirt! Court had on a Solo shirt from MotorbikeMike to represent as well.

I'll post an update on everything with pictures on the HAMB Trek:the Next Generation post about his rod! I need a shower first. I smell like the underside of a truck...

Oh no. "Honest honey, it's OK, I just left our 15 year old son with a bunch of guys I met on the internet. What could be wrong with that?"

What the hell was I thinking! I'll have to ask him tomorrow. He does know how to tell the difference between goat **** and Goobers. There is a raisin in the middle of one when you bite into them.
