Hey anyone of you out there is builing or driving a hotrod thats not ou of a fordchevymoparorso?? i would love to see pics ,i start with a few of my citroen bs 1926
Well this aint no Ford ot Chebby or non of the above. But it will have a MOPAR Mill. Anyway this should keep your post alive and I do like the old Euro-rod.
Here's my 34 Olds. link to the rest of the build.http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=223992
'53 Starlight Coupe, the Hawks DADDY. Uh they didn't come with a bump in the hood. But the carb location causes a minor problem.
OK I shouldn't do this but other than my junk there's some pretty cool stuff to look at here. Well that and I really like the Citroen. Yea yea I know its not common hot rod fodder but what is these days. So come on fellas lets see what ya got that isn't "normal" hot rod material. Except your mazda with red wheels that is.
choprods is buildin a 32 buick...but not sure how far along it is....im buildin a ford with a chevy motor in it...i believe its the first one ever! LOL
In time I'm going to build this german 1936 Hansa 1100. Just have to finish the house and garage first... It's actually a four seater, so there's room for the whole family. (The car in picture #2 is not mine, just a similar model)
You fellas from across the pond got some neat ol' shit. Tough row to hoe getting hot rod parts but you got some neat stuff to start with. Uh, what's a Hansa compare to, upscale like an old Chrysler or more common like a chebby?
That's one badd-ass looking olds!!! The V-dubb in the background just makes me wonder what kind of a idea do you have for it????
I know what I'd do if it were mine. I'd go broke building a streetable hemi gasser out of it. And you're absolutely right about the olds.
Hm, I'm really not sure... I think it originally was a luxury brand, but it was bought by a truck factory and started building more normal cars. It's pretty rare though, only three of them exist in Norway and parts are nonexistent. Mine sat in the forest for twenty years, prior to this it had been butchered to use for farm equipment. I don't feel bad for not restoring it, simply because there are no parts to restore it with! It originally had both IFS and IRS, but it also has a lot of wood in the body, which I don't look forward to replacing... Added a few more pics, mine is of course the bad one...
Absolute!! I love the style of 30's and 40's eurocars. BTW Gasolinedeniz, is that a Citreon? Is the bed frame wood also?
"Anybody can restore one it takes a real mant to cut one up." (author unknown) Looks like a pretty classy car at one point. But it also looks like you got enough car there to build a fine rod. Its really a 4 seater? Like in opera coupe or just a real short bodied sedan?
Yes, it is a longer type coupe with a normal back seat. A bit cramped, but I suppose it is ok for a child. I found a picture where you can barely see the back seat to the right. I'm really looking forward to building this car, I think it'll be a nice project. It has a couple of issues design-wise, like the angle of the B pillar and the roof "forehead", but nothing that can't be fixed. I also have the important parts for the build, like the hand brake and steering wheel. Now, if only I could finish that garage and get the car in there...
Not exactly mine but my father built this from a Simca Vite, See also http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256330
Hey you don't need a hand brake if you got a horn. Looks like you are well on your way. I built in the driveway for a very long time, I've only had a garage for about the last 3 years. One was not much bigger than a closet (ask raven61) My new one is just a little bigger than a one car garage so its a little cramped actuall everything that isn't needed today is in the basement. But hang in there you'll make it if you're patient. Rickdeluxe That old Simca is pretty cool, my mom had a Simca sedan when I was little ( late model about '58 or 9). How's that one built; do ya recall what was done to it?
