'71 LTD radio wiring

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by CapeCodBob, Apr 13, 2008.

  1. Would anyone know where I might obtain a wiring diagram for the radio that came in a '71 LTD?
I have all the parts but the wires are cut and different colors make it hard to figure out which go where.

Bob..try to find a Ford sevice manual for 1971. I had major electrical/wireing issues
with a1968 FORD Country sedan, got my hands on a 68 service manual and was able to solve most of the problems.

Might also try a stereo shop. They sell 'kits' that have new plugs with wiring pigtails and a diagram........... Might be fairly common to MANY Fords.

  4. Service manual has no wiring diagrams by 1971 Ford was doing a separate electrical diagram book, That is the one you need. I can't see there being too much to wiring them. Most Fords would have power and ground in and the dash light and the speakers.

According to crutchfield this would be the wiring harness you'd want to purchase, all the wires have printing on them telling you where they go.
