Viva In My Opinion

First of all I want to thank the shifters for busting there ****s to get a show like this pulled off. I know it takes alot to do. And for the Cute girl selling the shirts in their both for hustling me into buying a shirt!

(This is my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions)

It was my wifes Birthday so we were out there for that. so while she sat poolside for a few hours I went over to the show to check things out.

GOOD:

* Cars: Lots of really nice painted hot rods, great looking customs and *****en g***ers. I am personally a fan on the 49-54 chevys and man there were some nice ones... (Black bottom blue flake top form Los Reyes Car club and then the silver one with a flake mexican blanket top...The 32 pickup that was flat brown, sweet 33 three window from the lifters car club etc etc)

* People: It was great to see Doug dorr, Alex Gamibino (who is a ruler for chalking up more miles in his chevy that most ever do) Keith Weesner, Nash from Burnout Magazine all people that have been in this "scene" lifestyle for some time

*Bands: For the most part the bands and the DJ was good. Consistant music going is always a good thing.

BAD:

* No Bikes aloud inside the show: there was soo many nice bikes including our own noteboms and others, however, they had to park on top of the garage or on the side of the show outside the gates.

* The turning away of some really nice cars because the lot was said (full) but thre were tons of empty spots upon walking in. maybe it was a insurance thing with so many people walking around.

UGLY:

* Girls: 98% of the said Pin Up models and the amatuer photographers that were talking pictures of them stradling cars. Some looked liked trolls some looked like whales and some looked like the were tucking Russian lady style.

* Cars: I am so sick and tired of seeing ****ty cars 2 or 4 doors that are just beat. ****py chops, ****py nose deck and shave, ****py paint or no paint at all and huge rust holes. No Interior and this is the cool thing to do???? WTF since when... There were a couple clubs there that are nothing but ****ty cars and bad at***udes they drink until they cant see straight and then talk **** on other people and cars... same clubs that showed up at paso last year at the hotel I have stayed at for 10 years and gave hotel staff and local police a hard time... I wont name names but they are from so cal Los Angeles.. Just stay at home...

*TUFF GUYS: Give it up....Most of the tuffies out there had ****ty cars or no cars at all and just drank until they couldnt function and they p***ed out there tuff guy at***ude to everyone else.

I've never been to Viva, so I can't really comment on it in particular, but I can say this about shows in general. If I see a car or whatever that I don't like, I just keep walkin' and I sure as hell don't waste time or film on them. Seems to work for me.

 

Yeah kinda what Ive heard about Viva. I still wanna go one day tho.

What makes you (BigDaddy) any different than the drunks you don't like so much..You are still talking **** about other people and their cars.

Feel free to post pics of the cars you like, or your own car, for that matter.

I always say if you want to talk smack about someones ride, show yours as well.

at least you were able to attend.

I am a realist... I am portly dude you dont see me walking around in a mid drift and a speedo...I didnt take a car since as I said above just was there for my wifes Birthday..Not to mention I just sold my car because my landlord died and they may be seeling the house I live in..But if you would like me to post picks of my past rides @ shows I would love to show you...You are right at least I was able attend.

My last trip to the "Viva" show was 2 years ago, and I will not go back again. sounds like they moved the event from the top of the garage down, did it stop the jack ***es from throwing beer bottles off the top? And about the girls...... well if it's not your car DONT SIT ON IT unless i ask you to!!!!

 

viva was the biggest waste of time and money... poseur fest! the only saving grace was the fact that i was in vegas so the mrs and i had a good time doing everything but the show. if it wasn't for The Dynotones, last years show would have been the worst car show i'd ever been to.

the exact reason i did NOT go there and never will again, and the whole car club tough guy thing....................geeeezuz, Im a lone wolf and always will be, ****ty cars should be banned from every show, i say we start a show, with no ****, no flat black and no ****ty ****ing cars.......there the one who blow it for all us others.......its really a bummer. bigdaddy thanks for standing up for us good guys. i got your back! -jordan

could not go...wife is sick. So far I have not seen any pics of cars with HUGE *** saw blades sticking out of it. That alone is an improvement over last year. hehe.

****s they did not allow bikes in. I enjoy looking at OLD bikes just as much as old cars/trucks.

wish I could have gone. how was the weather? it was hot as hell in the bako area...was 99 in my shop today. time to get the cooler mounted!

 

This thread is just DRAMA!! Stop talking ****. Who cares about Rat Rods, who cares about if it's a moredoor. At least you were at a carshow, you could have been home crying about how hot it is while mowing your lawn. Go take a nap.

 

"the whole car club tough guy thing" man jordan, you hit that right on the head. when I lived in San Diego i was hated by the Deacons car club and i never even talked to one of those guys. They didnt like me because my model A was shiney, and straight. I did the whole car myself and it won every show it went to. At***udes like that are what turn people away from the car scene.

Sorry Jordan, but you sound like a pompous douchebag right now. It is great that you can build cool stuff. You don't need to think you are better than everyone else because of it. I'm not saying that all the ratty cars are great, and that all nice cars are not, but cut some people a little slack..

You might fit in better at the new Paso show. Not Santa Maria, the wine and cheese show.

 

I was at a car show and it was really nice weatherin vegas... I did moe the yard before I left are you stalking me hahahh. I could care less if its two or 4 door I appreciate cars...not junk

Motorcycles have no place at a car show. Cars have no place at a motorcycle show. I don't see why you listed that as bad. If I want to go see motorcycles, there's a bar up the road where everyone dresses the part and adjusts their head napkin...

 

U dont get the point, fighting, people doing burnouts-DRUNK, and thrashing ****, is ********, they put bad news out about every hotrodder, then there gunna outlaw everything for us, just watch.. it will happen.

DESOTO; sorry skratches car doesnt run, and is flat black, my car is finished, and runs and drives......its a Real painted hotrod, and sorry that i cant do the best body work but i do go the extra stretch to put paint on my cars..............and if people started building traditional painted cars and were respectful, everyone would get much more respect, hotrods had nice paint in the 40's and 50's. im sorry people look at black and white photos and instantly people think everything is primer............
