You may ask Why Chopsuey? When a couple of our club members used to drive around the city for work we used to see a lot of chopsueys and said it would be fun to drive around and take pics of our cars with as many as we could find. That thought has become the "Chopsuey Scramble". I have driven around the STL area and found 6 spots with old signs, buildings or businesses for everyone who wants to join in to find the locations with an address and name and take a picture and get to the finish line first. Picture the film "its a mad mad world" meets "cannonball run". The locations are all in decent hoods because lets face it old cars breakdown. If you don't have anything running you can navigate for a buddy or just come to the finish line party. It's the car event for the person who usually enjoys the drive to the show more than the actual show. It is saturday June 21st and the flag drops at 2pm. Ryan from the bombers was cool enough to let us have the starting line at the old chuck-a-burger on St. Charles Rock Road. So you can get there early and fell up your gut before the scramble begins. you can email me with any questions or check out the myspace page. Hope to see a decent turn out.

That ****s, but if it goes off like I hope I want to do it again when I have something to drive. I hate when you have something to drive and then one day you don't. I don't think we'll have to tell anyone to eat cause when you are already there it is really hard to resist. Mmmmm... good eats!

Hopefully I'll be able to make this and hopefully won't have to stop for gas more than twice in the 2 hours!

I don't mind the 10 spot entry fee, cause I know I'm gonna get rich on this deal. The 34 will be there bump steer or not.
By the way any hot chics that can read a map should contact Joe Labia in care of Kustomers.com.

chopsuey is cat kitchen which most of seem to be in run down areas of the city where there is a surplus of strays to through in the wok. If you drove through these areas you could not miss them because there are more chopsueys than walgreens in a square city block.

I drove the scramble to check a rough time and it took about 45 min. just leisurely going to one after another not necessarily in the quickest order. The 2 hours is just because if you still are not done by then you are lost and need a better navigator.

Looks like I might make it after all!!:) I don't think we are doing the reunion thing anymore. Anyway, I talked to Jarrod and he said he's doing 100 mph the whole time.:D He want's to win, but little does he know my cars faster.;)

I think it should be in East St Louis. The winner could be the car with the least amount of bullit holes in it.

Your idea sounds safer and more fun

Some of the old buildings and signs that I found are in areas that you have no problem just driving thru but you would not want to breakdown there. if you had to leave your car it would be sittin up on blocks or taken to a "we pay cash for junk cars place".

Thats cool you will be able to join in the mayhem that will soon be known to all the little police departments across STL area.

Sounds like a hoot... I work in North St. Louis, so I know all about the Chop Suey on every block. Some of it isnt bad, just try to make sure I get something w/ a bone in it that resembles that of a chicken!

If I can get one of my cars on the road by then I'll try to make it.

Joe says he's gonna be my navigator if Kathy can't make it till the party that night. I hope I don't make him car sick while he's trying to read. I think I'm gonna rent Smokey And The Bandit to get psyched up.
