Its very elusive, but it does surface from time to time. Kinda like Loch Ness Monster sightings.

Sweet!! I'll be there. I really wish there were more of these type of cruise-ins going on in the KC area. Anybody know of any others?

Lee's Summit is where I am and the guys are right, Johnie Ray's is hoppin' but you need to get there early to grab good spots. Dad brings his wagon out periodically.

Add me to the list, I'm about 3 hours away right now but moving to the KC area in about 5 months so looking to meet some people from up there and possibly gain a few friends or maybe some contacts in the auto industry at least. PM me or add me to your friends, let me know of any upcoming events, looking for reasons to escape and visit the area before we move. Im also looking for a club in the area to join, hoping my 63 F100 will be driveable by the time we move up there.

  17. I'm actually looking for a bodyman in the Kansas City area that can help me out with my truck. There used to be a wrap-around aftermarket bumper on the back that took a hard enough shot that it caved in the back of the bedsides. If you're familiar with these old trucks, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'd like to find someone who is good enough to get the dents pretty straight, without repainting anything, and without screwing around with the original bed wood.

Also, there was at some point some minor rust on the bottoms of the front fenders, and the PO's solution was to just glue some tin covers over the spots and call it a day. Now, it needs the fender botoms cut off and replaced (they do sell these pieces aftermarket), so I'd like to get someone who can also do that. I realize either I or someone will have to do a little paintwork there, but for the most part, I like the original old paint that the truck has on it now.

Does anyone know a good person I should be asking about this in the area?

    Thanks! :)

    Man, that's some dedication.

Did you know that automotive artist Charlie Smith grew up in Sedalia?

The Art Institute is amazing - glad to hear about another local customizer studying over there. Many of us have spent a lot of time around that place - have fun man..

  24. So you're that Tom Davison - on Charlie's site Motorburg.com, he gives credit to you as being inspirational and one of the big influences on his automotive art career.

Tom, I met you many years ago at the MO State Fair, I bought a t-shirt from you of a 65 Mustang you air brushed. I was in awe.

I told the story years later to Monte McPhearson and he said you air brushed some t-shirts for him years ago. I think it was his show car that he used to show at Ray Farhner's KC show.
