Does anyone know anything about the manual punch press with multiple sized hole dies that is used in So-Cals shop? I saw Shine use it on Hard Shine and would love to get my hands on one. Thanks

Hey, this one that I saw them use wasn't hand held. This was a turrit style. It was probably 24" in dia. with about a 36" handle you pulled to punch the hole.

Most common ones I've seen and used are by Rotex; they're quite common in the NASCAR fab shops. They are expensive. If you need to punch a lot of different sized holes on a daily basis, they're worth it. vic

We have one of those at work. Punches holes in sheet metal. Ours goes up to 1 inch diameter. What do you want to know about it ?

They're called turret punches Rotex, Di-acro, Wiedemann all made good ones. Most were 12 or 18 station meaning they would hold 12 or 18 punch and die sets. Most had around 18 inch throat depth and could punch up to 2.25 inch hole.

You can find used ones on Ebay (few were just on Ebay, even a 24 station from memory) and you can still purchase them NEW if you desired. They cost $$$ new, but if you do a lot of sheet metal fab, they are a great addition to the shop if you have the xtra money to spend. :)
Actual used one go for some decent coin also, but deals are still out there if you are persistent...

Yes, That is what I am looking for. What is the heaviest gage they will normally punch? I going to start keeping an eye out for one now that I know who makes them. Sometimes some thing very cool makes up for not being able to completely justify the cost. Thanks guys!
