    All,

Just picked up an original tank and looks like someone tried to put some rubberized tank liner in it at some point. Well tank wasnt prepped and liner is coming loose. What is the best way to get this out of the tank? Boil it? Is the tank ruined?

My experience with trying to save old tanks with rot hasn't been good. Old tanks that just need cleaned are one thing but rusted ones are junk. If it has some kind of half ***ed liner installed it's because it's a leaker. Cut your losses and don't put any more into it. Buy a new tank and keep your fuel clean. I like the poly tanks the best.

Methelene Chloride (carburetor cleaner) is a little hard to get now days but is will remove any carbon base products if soaked long enough. 34 Ford stuff is worth saving if its not so rusty that it can't be effectively repaired.
