Adam, Wow what a story. I'm glad you beat that awful stuff my mom and dad weren't so lucky. Best wishes for you always and may you have a happy 4-17 for many more years to come. Gasser Girl
Fantastic story, people like you are the real heros in life. I get misty-eyed when I read stuff like that. My little sister was 11 when she was diagnosed with a brain-stem tumour. The docs told my mother that she'd be lucky to live to see 15. She's now 38, happily married, owns a house, and works full time with disabled people. She has a fairly severe physical disablility herself due to complications from the 3 surgeries she's had, but you'd never know it when talking with her. Thanks again for sharing your story.
I'm sure hoping that HAMBAndy is reading this. A survivor with an A! Nice. Congrats and many more to you.
TEARS AND GEARS...I absolutely love the HAMB...awesome to have you with us...I am gonna start using 4 and 17 on my lotto picks...threads like this put it all in perspective...it was almost 13 months ago that my little girl Gianna suffered a terrible rattlesnake bite and had to have 27 vials of anti-venom serum administered...alot of great HAMBERS out there sent prayers and well wishes...it's not all cars...it's a brotherhood and sisterhood of good people...but I am curious...BULL in Minnesooooooooooooooota where do you get a good Burritoooooooooooooo up there aye? 417 Rocks!
what a great post,,, we all take so much for granted,,reading your post makes me realize that even more,,,, bet your dad (is) was proud of you,,,,,,its great to see someone that has their priorities straight.... keep up the great work,,,glad you are on the HAMB..
Yes, thanks again to Tingler for such a kick ass interpretation and artistic vision. The dash is my favorite part of the car now. Best of all, he pulled some crazy long hours to get it done by 4/17 for me a year ago. Can't say enough good things about the guy.
What a humbling reality check for most of us here, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing your story and happy 4/17/08 and a whole bunch more!
These are the stories that kept me going in the darkest of days. And its exactly why I share my story now. I'm no hero. Far from it. The people that are fighting the good fight are the real heros. And yes, Hambandy is a hero. As you can imagine, his story really touched me. And I have contributed to his build fund on my own and through auctions here. Coincidentally, my love of Model A's comes from my battle with cancer as well. When I was in the hospital, one of my dad's friends gave me my first Model A Tudor. Prayers, love, support, family . . . and cars got me through . . .
Rancho Grande or Guadelahara are two good joints within a few miles of me here. Though I'm not sure they'd satisfy the taste buds of those from TX or CA from what I've heard about the fantastic Mexican food there.
Thanks for sharing with us... His peace, blessings, & good health to you and yours. Enjoy that ride too.
And last reply before taco time . . . My dad is my hero. A great man who never forgets to let us know how proud he is of his kids. someone whom I am inspired by always. I aspire to be like him and smile every time anyone comments that I am "just like my dad."
