It's been beautiful down here, 60s in the morning getting up into the low 80s in the afternoon, low humidity too, perfect. In a few weeks all hell will break loose, 95 degrees and 130%humidity, it makes everyone nuts, murders go up and skirts get shorter.

So Nads, tell us how you really feel. ;-)

Seriously new guys, start reading and wrenching instead of posting garbage. You don't just waltz off the street into some strangers garage and start running your mouth. Respect.

    That Dilbert clip is funny!

"An extreme intuition about all things mechanical and electrical, and utter social inep***ude"................priceless!

I think they're just leaving this thread up so we'll have a place to play and not get too out of hand in the other threads............

I drove my chevy this week. The weather was 70 and spotless, it was real nice. But then it snowed again, and it is like 40 right now, I can't stand it for very much longer.
Anyway, I can't believe this hank guy is freaking out. He tries to sound like the stuff, but really is just giving you guys the water to piss on him later. That is why this thread is still around, they'll probably make it a sticky as an example.

    Now for my opinion...
The internet, we all love it, obviously. Otherwise it wouldn't be here. Now over the course of time the internet has been around it has reached certain levels of civilization. We are at the current pinnacle of Internet culture, people all across the globe contribute to this forum, and it is for only one purpose, old cars. but there are still ideas that hold true across the web, ideas like how we should approach internet relationships. Some people get real serious, they think this is real life, and get bent when someone offends them. But that is only one approach to the internet. The other is that the whole thing is not real life, it is simply the internet. I am never going to see any of you in the real world, and if I did, it would probably be a good experience. But what must be realized is that there is no limiter here, like in real life. We are able to say anything, without any actual repercussions. In real life you would get punched out, or sued, whichever suits your fancy. I sell on Ebay, and I have done well. But once in a while I get some *** head bidder who thinks it is their responsibility to police Ebay, so like if I put something in the wrong catagory on purpose because it would better promote my product than any of the stupid setups ebay offers, they report it. Now I say get a life, I mean how is it influencing them one bit. But, whatever, its just the internet. I know it messes with my money and blah blah blah, I don't care that much, it is not some great offense getting in a big hooptydoo over. I just chill out, take it easy, and relax. Now if its face to face, you better watch out, I like to swing hard.

Why would you say that "you are never going to see any of us in the real world"? are you in prison for life?

I have met more than a few of the people on this forum..so far all of them real, and most of them cool.

Do you plan on coming to Idaho soon, cause I'm not going to your garage. Besides, you probably did not get talked to like people talk to on this forum, and if you did get talked to, you were able to comprehend it as a joke.

I met germ once, in real life, but he mighta coulda been a mirage though, we had both been imbibing rather heavily.

I have met so many unbelievably cool people through this board, a couple were ***hats but most became friends for life.
I got some grief when I first posted on here when there were only about 100 members but I never s***ed back. In fact I lurked for several months to figure out what the hell was going on before I built up the courage to ask "who loved you most, your mama or your papa?" Most respondents said "your mama."

Back then Hanky woulda gotten a spanky of the worst kind, today this place is far gentler, be thankful ye of thin skins.

I don't plan on taking it personally, I am just here to have fun, talk to some guys who know more than me, and try to help out whenever I have the ability to. Like right now, this thread is a kick. I wouldn't mind you guys bashing me, if it'll keep it alive. We gotta at least keep it going until pir8daryll comes back from work, we can't let him down, right.

So does that mean that you NEVER attend car shows or events?

I can honestly say I have met HUNDREDS of HAMB folks over the last 10+ years, yes I've know alot of these folks before any of us were even on the HAMB, and I must add that 99.9% are truely like their internet "personality". I know that a few that I think are ***holes on here I would probably think are ***holes in person as well but for the most part folks are great and in person we all have a GREAT time together. One trip to the HAMB Drags and you could see in person exactly what I mean.

Oh yeah, I was in ID last Aug....looked for you but you must have been hiding from me. I will probably return next summer so be forwarned.:D

There are all sorts of car events where a HAMB contingent gets together. Ryan even put together the HAMB drags where we , the HAMB, rent a track for the day and we race. We don't really need a planned event though. Plenty of us get together just for.
