Introduce myself & my 1927 hot rod

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by HotrodinJT, Apr 18, 2008.

  1. Hi to you all, I have been on for some time but wanted to Introduce myself . I am Scott -38 and live in the southern California desert were the old cars and trucks are great finds and I have a yard full to prove it. I got the old car bug from my Dad. After collecting cars & trucks forever I am finally making time to get some going. I am working on a 27 ford coupe hot rod right now. I dropped in a ford Flathead and starting to plumb the brakes. I also have a 52 Chevy panel and just got a 38 Chevy truck. I had some questions and wanted to post them but was blocked!?

I have bought many old cars and for some reason most of them are missing the air cleaner, so dirt/dust and and if they have no hood rain/snow have got into the carburetor over the years. My question~ in your own experience what have you done to get the car running? Or would you even try to start it with all the dirt down inside!? I need to learn a lot but that's why I joined. Hope the pics I am posting work! Thanks, Scott
