Terry snapped this pic of a big-window Chevy truck at the Roundup and I love the look of it. I'm curious to see what my '27 Essex would look like with the same paint/white vinyl tonneau & running boards/wheels & tires combo. Any of you photoshop gurus able to help? Thanks! Chevy truck: My Essex:
i'm a photoshop guru... but that's a tall order. preferably a straight shot from the side would be the best to work with. as well as pictures of the wheel by itself, or a comparable one from an open wheel where i can cut out the entire thing. see the 52 2 door photoshop thread for details on what i am talking about.
haha, i was thinking the same thing. thats not one you can just "knock out". i can even do it while at work, and make twice that.
That's the "nice guy price" for the H.A.M.B. I'm sure (Boyd Who) meant no harm, but most people have no clue what it takes to "knock it out". I don't think the barris brothers had Photoshop. Imagination is a tool not found in the garage.
Nice job hosedclamp. I couldn't have done a better job in the "for free" price range. Looks good. Hall, anything would be an improvement over those slotted mags. Some cars they looks great, but NOT on that Essex.
Sorry if I pissed in anyones cornflakes. I see "photoshop help" posts all the time on the HAMB, most of which get the help they ask for. Not all of us are super computer skilled.
Actually a lot of us are capable, have design degrees and do find "Imagination" in our garages. We just aren't that impressed with ourselves and cash in the hand is far less important than hot rodding.
Hehehehehe. They looked ok on it back in '79 when it was built, but I really don't like them now. The mags "might" be up for sale in the near future. I wasn't planning to change the appearance of the truck very much when I first bought it, but the more I get into it the more I think needs to be updated. I definitely need to built it a new chassis, the current one is badly cobbled up. I'd like to give the truck and early 60's look while I have it apart. When I saw the pic of the Chevy I knew I'd found the colour that I wanted for it.
with all do respect... I'm always willing to help if I can, and just because it I'm working on a computer, dose not mean it's not work.... just trying to make a point, sometimes a incentive would be nice, like free t-shirt or something for best photoshop image. and you got my Imagination quote all wrong...
The way I see it, 5 minutes of my time to help a HAMBer get a better idea of something for their car is not something to quibble over. I'd do it for a friend, ergo I'd do it for a HAMBer. I just did one a minute ago... for free. Now, if this was a logo, or a full mock up or something, that's be different, but come on, 5-10 minutes of your time to help a friend in need?! What goes around comes around.
I know what you mean - but mostly I´m happy to help people out, even if I´m not exactly giving it my all if its for free. If it means that I can help a guy to build something that looks great, rather than just so-so, then thats cool. Not everyone has the eye of a Sam Barris, even if they have his metalworking skills. It only gets annoying when you hear, "...and could you just do this, and change these, and make that thing red and do five different colours..." and then not even get a thank you, as has happened occasionally.
with the fenders streatchin out like they do I bet that thing would loook sick on some radir skinny spoked drag style wheels! but i agree the slotted mags gotta retire I know its a trend right now but man that 60s show look is hard to beat! maybe a little somthin in white and another color green like ala cart !? Freakin nice work man !
I wish I could help you.... we have an office in Boston, but that's as close as I can get to Nova Scotia for ya.
Chopped, lowered, narrower wheels. got rid of antenna. extended bedsides up a few inches, got rid of clutter poking out from under the front fender, louvered the hood. For me the green doesn't do it. I know that the gold color is a bit over done these days but... Should have gotten rid of that outside mirror too but I just rounded it a bit.
First words off your keyboard. I'm not too impressed with his screen name but I know that he knows what's involved that's why he asked for help. And I'm not sure what you could have possibly meant with the imagination remark more than what it says. Seems to me you made yourself perfectly clear.
