i thought of just pulling it a couple of blocks away with my truck and leaving it, but i thought there may be another way. torches and the metal s**** yard were a thought too! i have it on the street so i can't keep it for long. i'd like to get rid of it a little more legaly than that if i can.

What about just taking it completely apart and selling the individual parts...

cut it up, sell what you can on eBay and there you have it. where im from you can call somebody and they will haul them off no questions asked. there is several (like 35 or so) different people that do that sorta thing here and they advertise in the newspaper all the time.

The last thing Oakland needs is more **** on the street. Have some hometown pride....but if you are going to do it, drag it out on the street and then call the number for abadoned autos. They will tag it and have it gone in a week.

I have never disposed of a car in this manner but have had to call because I live in a neighborhood that tends to be a great place for dropping off stolen/abandoned cars.

City of Oakland has this process down.

  17. Make some phone calls and find out how to get rid of it the right way. I recommend trying the police, DMV, AAA, metal recyclers, charities, etc. There's probably somebody that'll come and take it away for them to s**** it to make a few bucks off what you don't want.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

This is the legit way. Get a VIN verification from the CHP. Go to the DMV and fill out the appropriate forms. (Application for ***le, etc.). Then give it to whoever the hell will take it.

Some CHP Offices will have you start the process at the DMV so call first and make an appointment.

Last time I did something like this was when I let a friend store a car at my place "for few days". six months later, I called one of those pick up junk cars for free people, and he came and got it. All I had to do was drain the fluids. Never heard anything since.

  20. It's nice here in NY, I've s****ped two in the last two weeks that didn't even have tags left on them. You just fill out and sign a form and that's that. By the time I'm done they go straight to the crusher stack anyways, I prepped one yesterday and it's just a shell - no doors, no deck, quarters cut off, no nose, no motor, no dash, etc etc -

In the past I just called a wrecker locally and asked if I could bring a car without a pink slip. 3 out of 4 said "Fine". Car was gone, I was happy, life was good.
