HEY GUYS WHAT DO YOU DO WITH SOME OF YOUR OLD CAR MAGS? I CHERISH MY "CUSTOM RODDERs" AND SOME SPECIAL ISSUES OF OTHERs. AND HATE TO JUST THROW THEM OUT.
I've got endless piles of old car and tractor mags, inherrited from my grandpa and my dad, and a bunch I have collected over the last 5 years...I've got them in binders, and organized by year and all that stuff. Mostly I just read them. I'm still trying to finish a stack of old Truckin' mags I got off here a while ago from Jakespeed.
Black out my name and leave them at the Drs. office. May be it will get someone else interested in rodding, all they go to look at are Home Beauteful or My Poor Sole.
I left them at the Drs. office went back a week later and they were gone. Think I will try an old folks home. Someone said take them to the shop class at a high school.
shop class sounds like a good idea.....I tried the docs. office b4 and the same thing happened....gone by my next visit.....
I bought an old store magazine rack that holds over 500 mags for 40 bucks. Put it out in the shop for reference.
Jeese, I need just 8 Custom Rodders to finish my collection...If anyone is looking to cull their collection, I need; July 94 March 96 May and Sept 2004 Jan, March, May & Sept 2006. Just PM or email with price....
I take em to the local vetrans hospital's, there are 2 of them within 90 miles, the guys love them. BB
Jesus, why are you shouting at me? Realy though, I can't bear to part or toss things that cost 5 bucks and more. I pack rat it all.
I keep the ones I want and sell or give away the rest to other car guys. Have sold a lot of old car mags on ebay. They are a good source of info when building an old style rod.
I've started collecting literature and mags from 40s-60s. A lot of the early articles by George Barris. Priceless research. Thats stuff you would never give away.
ill pay shippin....heres my addy............... i like the vets home idea! there already gettin hosed by the country they fought for, might as well perk up there day a lil if ya can!
Find a place to hide 'em until opportunity presents itself. I picked up a showcase for CHEAP and it needed some new wallpaper, so I used of my Car Craft doubles. If nothing else, find a cool rack...I did!
