Went to WI international Raceway today and lowered my best et and also set new MPH time also. Made 6 runs: 1st) 12.30 at 108.061 2nd) 12.271 sec. at 107.425 mph 3rd) 12.366 at 108.319 4th) 12.263 at 108.206 5th) 12.294 at 110.696 Best MPH 6th) 12.257 at 109.875 Best ET It was in low 70's and sunny, just a great day for racing. Cowboy Bob was not ready to run yet, so just did test and tune. I do have a video of the last and best et run and will try to put it on You Tube & post thread to find where it is. It does show me pulling the front wheels about 6" or so. Just to much fun!!!!!
AWESOME. way too cool for words 2B... Bob still got the rear end outta his car? i need to come down an ******** with you fondy boys again soon
Sounds like you are really getting that thing dialed in if you can pick up the front end and run that quick. Gives the rest of us a high mark to shoot for.
That is really great, I'm still waiting on pistons. It seems like equipment manufacturers only make SB Chevy parts anything else takes months. Keep up the good work.Roy
Well, looks like you've got the ET, MPH, and wheel-stand record wrapped up for now. Look out we're comin' to getcha. Long live the flathead!
Check out youtube.com and search for "Hamb Gas Dragster sets new et record" and you should find the 12.257 sec. run. Thanks for all waytogo's, we really have a good group of people in this.
Here ya go 2B. that car is amazing... seeing this makes all the grinding i been doin on my heap worth it
Video was shot by Bill Moon of Bill's Custom Exhaust, and I thank him for that. Cowboy Bob and Bill came up to watch, so I put Bill to work on Camera. Also special thanks to Gerry Troedel, my crew chief, a great help & much appreciated.
Thanks 2b it was my pleasure it just got me more motivated to start wrenching on the orange blossom special
Excellent! thats mad, never thought i would see a hambster with the front wheels off the ground....... go the flattie
After watching the video 20 times, all I can say is WOW! Excellent job of launching and shifting too.
New best: At WIR Raceway on 5/10/08 12.230 sec. at 108.170 mph with 1.741 sec. 60' time. Cowboy Bob had his rail also & we had a real exciting race, he had me until at least the 1/8th mi. great fun. He cut a great light & did 12.815 to my 12.336 on that run. I believe this to be his beat to date. He is fired up about that. We sure wish more rails were coming to Indy????
banjo, Cowboy Are you aware there's a big nostalgia race this coming weekend (May 16,17, 18) here in Kansas City at KCIR. The raceway's general manager (Todd Bridges) called me and invited all HA/GR cars; free entry for car and driver and 2 crew members. Roy (348 Chevy) emailed me that he could make it up from Springfield on the 17th. If you guys are interested call Todd at 816-358-6700. Ron
Ron, The notice was short on this & can't swing it this time. Keep us informed on the fall race there, do you have a date for this? 2b-banjo
I know, I know, dredging up an old thread. Just wanted to say I was watching the You Tube videos of the Meltdown Drags from Byron, Ill a week ago. 2b-Banjo (Bob Huberty) was there and ran against a sbc powered Bantam roadster. I couldn't tell if there was dial-in in the tree, but if not, Bob put a major hole shot on the Bantam. His flathead HA/GR was running very strong Maybe he will see this and fill us in on how it went at the Meltdown Drags.
