Thanks! Something charming about these things. They harken back to an earlier time when even the girlie books were more innocent.

I like Chris Froggett and Tom Fritz for later artists, completely different styles but I think they both capture some true spirit.

No. This one has to be around though. It's a calendar salesman sample. I bought a bunch of early 60's samples. They would show the prospective buyer a picture of what would be on the calendar.

A couple drawings like this. Little girls with puppies, famous landmarks, rural churches and a few ****s thrown in for good measure.

note the "lubrication service" shes not parked in front of a grocery store... huh...
i love how artists stick things like that in there. Wonder Woman is known for how incredibly dirty it is

she always seems to be riding a phallic symbol :)

theres one that i can't find where shes standing with her legs spread apart (in super man pose) and the angle of the back ground puts the Eiffle tower right in between her legs! and they gave this to kids!

  7. Is she saying "Suffering Sappho!"? Bravo!

Check out http://www.plan59.com I spent hours on this site. All this cool art can be purchased. Printed on quality paper.

    Looks better than the originals!

  10. Love this post! Here are a few different pieces from my ac***ulation.First up is a belt buckle designed by Salvador Dali for the Pirelli Tire Co.in the late 1940's.He did two different ones and I have yet to find the other.
Next is an illustration I picked up at a flea market for $10.Have no info on the artist(Grant)but it looks like a design studio proposal.
Next is an illustration by James Allington.I got three different illustrations by him from Shell Oil Co.for adollar in the 1970's.
Next is an illustration out of Hop Up magazine in 1953 by C.O.LaTourette of a very special OHC conversion for a Ford flathead.
Next is an illustration of a Lamborghini done by a friend of my son's while he was still in high school! Wonder what he's doing today?
Next is another Lambo from a cover of a recent magazine. What is unique about this is the tribal style art was done with a SHARPIE!!!!Took two weeks to accomplish/
Last is a comic book I've had since I was a kid(early 50's).Hope you enjoy these.
