Auf Wiedersehen fellow rodders. I bow humbly to those who have a love of traditional hotrods and all things speedy and retro. I've joined this forum to research advice from the smart ones who've been there and done that before me as I put my 53 Chevy together. After searching for 5 years, I finally found the 53 that was right for me, but it begged for more power. You see, I drive a 600 h.p. asphalt circle track late model on the weekends and the tired 235 straight six in the 53 just wasn't going to cut it. So the old man and I bought a 355 sbc to drop down in it, and we're going through the trials and tribulations ***ociated with stuffing a V8 in something that wasn't intended to have one. I'd love to hear from anyone who's gone this route and would be willing to share some pics of their project. Oh and yeah, I'm a chick...yes, hotroddin' is a man's world, but I can't help what I love. I grew up in a hotroddin' and racing family, so it's in my blood.
Welcome. You will find some great company here in your love of things mechanical. We have many people here who are of the fairer ***, and as competent and p***ionate as anyone else here about rods and customs. The search function is a great way to find many things because there is a huge amount of experience here. I have found many things just by going there, and you will find some really good "been there, done that" tips and tricks, donor car info. It is really good.
Thanks so much for the warm welcome(s). Have always found that fellow rodders are some of the best people I've ever met! I can't wait 'til I have a few minutes to dig thru the posts.
