Been chipping away at it for 13 years now and I finally drove it out of the garage. First time I have sat in the seat and driven it. We had to get the wife's in the pictures to. Now I can drive it onto the trailer and we can start some real body work.
13 years! Thank god! I'm not the only one in Michigan with a 'long term' project...car looks very cool, congrats!
I was beging to worry for my project is creeping up on three years. But, I guess I'm doing o.k.. Thanks for the confidence builder. P.s. Congrats. Always nice when another hunk of old steel hits the road.
Thanks guys. I's great to have a wife that want to see the project done as much as I do and enjoys cars nearly as much as I do. With that said the wife and house come first. Next goal is to be driving it in the Grand Rapids metro cruise this year. I know I could have it road worthy in a week or two but I don't want to throw it together just to drive it on the road.
So......Have the first-fire/first-drive gut ****erflys settled down ,yet? Nice ride....and the '66? Galaxie 'vert ain't bad either. Roger
First fire-up happened in November but if you can't drive it out of the garage it doesn't mean ****. This was my contribution to GREEN DAY, two carbureted gas guzzlers. It is a 65 (great year) and Thanks.
sounds like mine.. the long haul. Way to stick with it! I plan to be posting this same message by fall.
