So......heres my dilema im thinking of selling my 51 shoebox that is without a ***le, plates and many other things (a major project) I picked up a Tbird that runs and has all my attention as of right now. After cleaning my shop yesterday and walking past the shoebox a hundred times I just can't get rid of her. Groucho's shoebox is a major inspiration and I really want a g***er but I don't want to chop up this frame. My question for you is what ford frame should I use I was thinking some truck frame but I have no idea. Thanks
Most G***ers from that Era (not altered wheelbase like Groucho's) where built on the ch***is they had. Why not chop it up its just an old (insert any brand you like). You're ch***is will work and its already under there.
Well the body is off the frame right now and it has nice discs on the volare and so if i got a truck and swapped the bodies I could sell the truck to finance the g***er...I don't know just trying to make it work with no money
I know it is not ford, but I would use 53-4 chevy- set up for leaf rear, and the whole front suspension and crossmember unbolts from the front rails. It is also a boxed frame.
