I want to put either a 4 or 6 inch dropped axle in my 36 pickup.
I am going to run the stock transmission so there is no need to split the wishbones, is there? Will it work?

I think your bones will hit at the steering box at least, try a Posies rev. eye spring it got my 39 coupe with unsplit bones down to 7 1/2" at the chin with no issues. I did not have to change anything else to get it to work.

    No need
    BTW
There is most likely no such thing as a 5 or 6 inch dropped ford axle. Iv dropped model A’s to 4” and I just dropped and filled a 32 to 36 to 4” and it was hard to pull off.
The drop of new axles is highly exaggerated.
    I have a 3” axle in my 35 w a 5 speed and the bone is unsplit.

I'm running a 4" on my 35' (same animal), with 2" axle snubbers on the frame. no problem.
