anybody done this? Got this older restoration (70's) '32 4-dr. and a fresh 8BA, want to install with out taking the body off the frame. Do not want to use the trad '39 ****** as I want to be able to jump on it once in a while, and still get home without AAA. Going to use an 8" Ford rear w/transverse spring and would like to use a 5-speed, but most of the K member would have to go and the mount is too far back. Would like to keep this project simple, if that is ever possible. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

We tried fitting a four speed Ford behind an 8BA in a 32 roadster and we never even got to the K-member fit issue because the firewall would have to be moved back to allow the fit. The 39 ****** would take the abuse, just install a open driveshaft on it to hook up your beefy rear end. Or bite the bullet..take the body off and install a T-5 after doing extensive K member butchering. And that installation is far from simple.

If you want to use a stock fan with an 8ba in a '32 you're going to have to modify the firewall to make it fit. K-member aside this project would be much easier with the body off.
