too bad they don't have a video available with more in-depth build of each car you could buy. that'd be cool.

4 pages and no pictures of the new chick or the car?

I didn't even realize the show was back in swing so I didn't see it. Help a brother out.

At least Foose's show doesn't make car (or motorcycle) builders look like talentless buffoons, like most of the others!

Chip's talent is incredible but the thing I get tired of is Chip gett'in all teary eyed whenever there is a father/son moment. Holy crap man, pull yourself together!

I have to disagree with you. The cars on hard shine were bitchin. I think Foose is the greatest but the show itself is lame. The cars were ok if you like the pro-touring stuff. On hard shine they built some badass Hotrods, went to the salt flats, drag raced and the best part was seeing Littlemans garage and cars. I miss that show. I guess it depends what kind of cars you like. For me its........

I agree "THE ONE" I enjoyed Hard Shine as well. I'll never get over Littleman not keeping the job though.

Chip doesn't wear a rug! I guess he puts his talent into hygene too,LOL!!!
I run into the guy with the tub every now and then. That was the best episode,IMO! At least they drive the shit out of that car,not put it in a garage somewhere. He should do another Hotrod overhaul. I'm sure there's a few guys on the HAMB,with cars they will never finish!!!!!!!

  12. The guy is really tight with his own dad, and he had a little sister that died of a rare, incurable disease. I'd be surprised if he didn't choke up.

the pranking crap was overdone and just a waste of space. i caught about half the show before i passed out last night i will record it and watch the rest. It seemed pretty damn good though from what i saw. I would love to see them get my car they thought that mustang was rusty they ain't seen nothing :)

Havent seen the new show yet, but I agree the pranks were lame. As for show the one that was really a damn good show was Rides. The overall production was great, plus it was worth looking forward to watching.

I talked to Ian Ziering about the Camero they did for him, and at the time (about 9 months) he still hadnt driven the car. Something about wiring issues, and a few other things, and he seemed a little dissipointed at that time.

As for Chip you always hear he is a great guy, and I will add to that.

I was at SEMA the first year Overhaulin was there, and one day, real late after the show was closed (I had a venders pass) me and some other guy was back by their area, and no one was anywhere around, Chip walks up, the guy asked if he could get his autograph, so Chip asked what kinda car he had, guy says 34 Ford, so Chip sketches out a quick little 34 Ford drawing, then signs it for him.

I was a little ways away from him, but after the other guy leaves Chip walked over to me and just started talking. Just seemed like a really nice guy.

Also after the show was filmed, I remember seeing Chip laying on the bleachers just about to pass out from exhaustion. That just kinda stuck with me.

I missed the show last night so I can't comment on it. I also didn't care for all the pranks on the older show but I suppose there has to be a certain element that thought that was the high point of the show. You can count me in with those who would like to see some detailed discussion of some of the w ork but I don't think that will happen. Maybe we can lobby for a series of "how they actually did it" DVD's .
As far as the engines. Anyone who has sent an engine off to a machine shop for a complete rebuild will tell you that the chances of getting one back in that time frame are slim. And donating a crate motor to the cause is pretty low cost advertising.
As far as paint, I'd bet that the main color was suggested by who ever set the car up to be overhauled. That and the fact that there are actually colors beside flat black.
As far as the adds go, I often catch a couple of shows on Speed Channel early on Sunday morning that while they are interesting are both continuous adds.

    Please let me clarify...

I watched the show for thcars and such too, but JS was "acting" just a bit too cool for everyone. While I like his work I think he's just a big dork. It's like he was trying too hard to be cool for the show and it was kind of annoying (shrug).

damn right I'd watch it again though :D

Chip works his ass off and I have heard he power naps and rarely goes to bed and gets a full nights sleep. He works 24+ straight many days of the week. Imagine with a schedule like that I was able to call a guy I work with who manages the Foose wheel line and arrange for Chip to meet my Dad at his shop just to say hello and take a few pics, get an autograph etc...... Chip is first class. On another note, same day, Boyd did the same for my Dad.

    I thought It was Okay.
I liked that Chip whent over a few drawing pointers.
I always thought he should teach art more. Like the Bob Ross show.
I'm glad they didn't do that big stereo reveal where they play that lame ass self promoting "I love gasoline" song again!
I think its that other host guys band or some crap.
Why hasn't anyone mentioned how he's too cool for school he thinks he is!!!
That blonde girl mechanic should step up now and be a host, she's not "too skinny" and knows her way around a shop.
I think they gotta work on the whole surprise thing too. Its all over the place.

I missed the show and have to look for it on rerun if they do one. Oh, Mike, that new cheerleading outfit looks great. Shorten the skirt a couple more inches and undo one more button so the pushup bra can do it's thing.........perfect.;):)

All I can say is Bad thats the only way to describe the new show format. Its always interesting to see what Foose can do to a car even if I didnt like the paint job but the rest of the crap on the show seems forced. The new format takes all of the element of suprise out of the show. Also they should spend more of their time on the car. I was never a big fan of Boyd but at least I learned somthing while watching that show.

I know it seems like nobody like Boyd, and he was kinda like a grumpy ass when I meet him, but to be honest I liked american hotrod, and miss the show.

    people still watch that show?

I think people used to get a lot more work done on their cars before TV's took over as entertainment - internet too for that matter. OK, that's it, I am going out to work on my trucks now.

    I saw the show.
I never liked the pranking part. That said, it's a bit strange to tell the guy that you are taking his car, and then go to the insider for insight on how to build it. I expect that to change. It will be tough for Chip to make everyone happy and keep his style, so that will be tough.
Chip is like Ron Howard. No one has a bad thing to say about the guy. Genuine, hard working, and the level of work is incredible in so many fields. Even if I don't care for metallics and 2-tones, the guy has huge talent.
The build had a bit more this time, but showed mistakes instead of how-tos. Gotta go with the group here.
The reveal is the old format (car, then insider) and it's flat. The guy knows the car is at Chip's and who set it up. I hope they refine this part too. Many of the previous ones had historic pics and info on the car, making it another character. This one was a bit flat there, too.
Overall, an improvement, but half-way fixed.

why cant they just do a custom and rod build sho! like the fix it shows. I kno its the $$$ but none of the rod mags made it without 'how to's'. I know it,s difficult to see the rest of the world when your busy makin, money in the entertainment business, but they need to have 'real' rodders in the mix. they can put them on late at night, we got tivo! The HAMB needs to hav a show! gggg, plenty of talent here!

it wasn't a cameo ..i've been doing the show over 4 years . but,the show doesn't revolve around me .just chip ,the car and the mark .

we had a new production team .and i would say we had the best of the best builders on the show .mike curtis ,capt and ben bright .those guys rule ..

i do stripe a car on the show .tom kelly (whoe's the man ) and i do the last car of the season at sema .

chip doesn't wear a rug ..hahahaha ..that's rad ..him ,sam and his boy all have the same hair cut and thickness ....i'm the one in need of a rug ..

check out the rest of the season .we build some bitchen cars and trucks and have alot of fun .
