We had a blast at the Rumble today, except for my truck making me want to set it on fire. The original tank behind the seat is full of rust and had the fuel system all jacked up. Bought a fuel cell in the swap meet and ran a new line to get home. Here's some pics of the action.

    Later,

Man, I wish that I could have been there myself! Looks like you all had a great time! My friends BT and Shawn along with Shawn's son Cole were there. Shawn drove the 31 in one of your Pics and BT drove my white 62 Impala. I will try to attend next year and drive my ole 57 GMC. Thanks for the Pics! I appreciate it alot!

We are glad you stayed home too. Everyone there seemed to enjoy the show and dragstrip action (We did). If the name of a show keeps you from coming...you need to be working in the yard anyway. As far as I'm concerned they should just call it the Rumble, that stops all this silly shit.

Sorry for delay on the rest of the shots. There's even one of Jimmy's Impala before the dragstrip action.

Just a head's up if ou guys are going to change the name. The Indy Road Rockets Rumble is the third weekend in June. Its a pretty big show and has been for a few years now. So now you can't use "rat rod" and you can't use "rumble" in the show's title. Time for a brainstorming session on what to name the show.:D I would definitely include the fact that there's drag racing somewhere in the name.

Looks like fun. Still like the name. Thanks for the pics.

  19. I'm not the smartest man in the world, but there looks to be only a few of those cars that aren't Ol Skool Rodz. Kind of a bunch of piles of shit, if you want the truth.

    Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the pic of my 62 Chevy! I appreciate it! By the way,
I think that all the cars and trucks in the pics were GREAT! As far as changing the name of the Show because of the words.....Rat Rod, I have no trouble whatsoever with using Rat Rod-Hot Rod- Rod-Hot or whatever else I can think of. It is still just a name for the show so everyone going or not going will have a Heads-Up on what to expect when you get there. After you hear the name Rat Rod, you can decide for yourself if you want to associate with my kind of people or not.

Those are my kind of people too. They are down to earth people just wanting to have a good time with their cars. If you think your car is too good to be at a show like this...don't go, but don't give your opinion. There were cars at this show that would win trophies at most any show...and they were beating the hell out of them on the dragstrip.

Lots of fun at the RAT ROD Rumble!

i beat on my RATROD all the time and also drove it cross country a few times. if there was a RATROD RUMBLE every weekend i'd be there.... not everyone can afford to build a trad car, i know i cant.

  25. I uh,

    I um,

Personally I do think there is a difference between building a vehicle on low cash and low class. I think someone just needs to start a message board for RAT RODS and RAT kustoms. "RATTY ASS MESSAGE BOARD," or something like that so that the confusion can be put to rest. I like both for what they are, however there is a deff difference.

until then guys please keep arguing because its real entertaining to me!!!

There are boards with Rat Rod as the focus. There are also PLENTY of the same "Class" of cars on this site. The biggest difference is that some people prefer not to call or have their cars called rat rods. Call it whatever you want as long as you are having fun with the hobby. Not making it a kick in the balls for a guy that can't afford a '32 roadster that was built with all the "Correct" parts.

Just my thoughts on the whole classification process...

    I love it!
I was in attendance in my "Rap Rod" ( I was the first white Rapper on the scene!) and had a great time!
I made 37 passes down the track, gave rides to anybody (almost lost Video Bob outta the back while he was filming! lol) that asked ..... everybody had a blast!!!!!
    I smiled the whole day!:)
