Will using alcohol after wax and grease remover, help reduce static before painting finish coat? any other ideas?

I have painted fiberglass bodies for 35 years. I have tried driving a 4-foot rod into the floor to ground the bodies, spraying them with static killing products, and so on. These were a lost cause.

I have found that contolling the dust in the booth, and wiping the car down with a damp lint-free cloth, to work best.

I always clean the booth to get rid of any loose dust, then flood the floor with water. After you wipe it down, tack lightly and spray.

I would plan on at least a light scuff and buff, to get rid of any dust nibs. If you are doing this, you don't have to worry about the outcome. If there is dust....it will be gone after buffing.
