Not as much as I would have liked to....ran my Ford around a bit and determined I need a new fuel pump and/or filter lol and put some 90/10 shocks in my Mustang. Also adjusted the points on it and got some performance back that I had lost... -Dean
I made a sign in my shop...............I live 2 blocks from the fire....... I thought it was well deserved.
I spent the weekend working on the coupe a bit, got some patch work done, squared up the subrails that the last owner put in crooked.. and put in some braces I made
Friday night- Lifted my 37 Plymouth body off the frame with the help of six friends. Was able to pressure wash the frame before the end of the day. Saturday- Did yard work around my house and then went to the mother-in-laws for some more yard work only to get home and do more yard work. Sunday- Did more yard work during the morning, went to see my Dad after noon (drove my 36) and then cleaned the mess that I made Friday night. Overall a great SoCal weekend with the pool at 86 and the outside temp at ~85 but way too freakin much yard work!
I finished putting together a SBC shortblock for a fellow HAMBER's ,degreed the cam,pre lubed it. Now its time to finish the heads and setup the blower drive. I love working on this stuff!
Replaced the front, upper, outer eccentric control arm bushes and ajuster bolts and aligned the front wheels on the ute. Then detailed the sedan, includind polishing all the chrome inside and out. Not that much fun, but both needed doing.
I also spent the weekend at the Pate Swap Meet. Good weather, crowd and vendors down, and met several great Hambers! Did make a little dough that will let me continue on my 51 Fleetline!
Got nothing done on the 46......waiting on 2 pallets to arrive from Chassis Works (front & rear suspension, brakes & steering stuff) but I did manage to dig a hole in the ground & set form up for the concrete pad that'll be a new home for my new Ingersall/Rand compressor....... Paco
arg... same here. Started skim coating a naked 68 dodge coronet yesterday. I think I have found my new fav filler. Clausen "gold rush" awesome stuff. comes in a goofy can a little over a half gallon, great stuff though, good work time, spreads thin & smooth, bust the "skin" off with the big DA & go to town with the boards. Sands awesome, doesn't clog the paper. Yeah I hate sanding too but that's some awesome filler, made it more.... tollerable.
Spent the weekend under the T. Replaced the pressure switch in the brake system....GOT BRAKE LIGHTS. Bled and adjusted the brake....been a long time since I did that ! Drained the cooloing system, replaced the thermostsat and put the whole thing back together and fixed my shifter.......I had a lot of fun Watched Ashley Force win her first race.....she is so hot !!!!!
Got my front axle mounted. All I need is my rims to come in the mail and I'll finally have a rolling chassis.
Saturday, participated in the village yard sale--you know, where the whole town is one big yard sale, the fire dept sells chicken dinners, tourists from Akron and Cleveland [and Amish] annoy us! Made a little money, met a VW guru to help w my Beetle. Saturday night, drove to Painesville and saw Rumble Club, Whiskey Daredevils and Lords of the Highway![again] Sunday: Church, dinner, finished biology homework, THEN: House of Blues Cleveland to see the Rev Horton Heat!!! My 4th time, they get better every time. In conclusion, I didn't get jack sh*t done on my shoebox, but had another AWESOME weekend with my honey!
Mocked up and tacked the hat on my FC chassis Al (gonna build a street rod when this race car is done) in CT
I found a cool manifold for a small block ford. Totally out of the blue this thing shows up at a swap meet. Now I can build my comet gasser without having to build a BIG$$$$ FE
Yard mowed, two gardens weeded. Finally got to strip paint and the 1/2" of bondo someone put on the '38 front fender I picked up last year at Monroe. Other than some rust on the tail end it took very little hammer and dolly work. Have no idea why so much bondo.
cut grass, power washed front porch, deck, front garage, rear shop, worked the Special Olympics, moved the coupe for the 1st time since last winter and moved project road-side barn-find over for final finish work.... I'm wore out!!!
After getting a few suggestions from the HAMB last week, I completed the emergency brakes on the A. Another bench mark reached at the AMAN shop!
welded in my front floor and finished my trunk. as well as ran new electrical well kinda, to the garage, recylced my compressor, and fixed my wifes serpentine belt. tok
Mowed the acre of grass we call home. Scraped the stickers off the quarter glass on the Belair, I hate sticker racers. Figured out that I have to remove the dash to change the gauges and patch up the wireing. Watched some folks from the "Neighborhood" rob the house across the creek. Called the police it took 'em an hour to show up. Really didn't get much done.
On the 54F100 I; Mounted the shoulder/ seat belts. mounted the Emergency brake / order the parts to finish from Mcmaster Carr. finished the transmission tunnel Mounted the heater box to firewall Mounted the wipers, Marked all of the holes on the firewall not to weld shut Finished the Firewall master cylnder/ clutch cylnder standoff/ adpator for my Ansen firewall pedals. Welded holes and ground them on the pickup box. Tried to figure out were to put the battery box. Figured out how to finish off the back bottom of the pickup box. Watched some of 2007 CMA riverfest concert. And drank a few beers. Mrs Jalopy tool me to see Bucket list when she got back from a Quilting retreat. Installed new distributor Replaced front coil springs (the Aerostar spring 3" drop for '49-'59 Ford/Merc) Replaced defective Moon temp gauge (under warranty, thankfully) ...oh, and got a free 19" shop TV from my kids' friends dad. He was throwing it away. Works perfect, so I set it up on my parts cabinet in the garage and watched the hockey game while working on this list. Score!
