okies, a friend found this, from the rear it looks like early T-bird, but from the front I dunno, looks chevyfied or something. What the heck is it?
^hahahahhaha, well, cant complain to the picture taker, he found it and said I can have it if I want, he brought them to me and I just had no clue. Go get it or what?
hhhm I googled 58 fords and found none with the rear side trim, looks like a fairlane? should I grab all the chrome pieces, grill etc etc or should I yank the whole thing home. I still dont know if its a 2 or more door.
Hello, It is a 1958 Ford. Either a Fairlane or Custom. I would venture to say that it is a Fairlane. Thanks for the Pictures!
Does it have a back seat? Looks like a 58 Custom (not Custom 300) that was military purchased, Very baseline and cheapo side trim. Look for D.O.D numbers on it somewhere like the doorjamb. Dave
thats what I thought when i saw the rear, but everybody says fairlane type, but I havent found any pictures with the goofy side chrome on the rear fenders, looks like tbird rear to me, but the front is definately fairlane, especially with the little hole in the nose. I'd have to guess with everybody else on this one and say its the ford fairlane or custom type body, not t-bird
Hey! I have one of those!! I'd say it was a 2 door judging from that picture. Once upon a time mine had those three rear side pieces, all welded up now. Mine is a 58 Fairlane Town Victoria Tudor. If I remember correctly, there were 13 different styles of Fairlane offered in 58. You could mix and match lots of trim combinations, but that side trim was offered by the factory. If you don't take the whole car, at least go grab the chrome off it. If it still has the visors, grab those too. The mounting brackets were a one year style only, and the visor pins seem to bring $ for some reason. The taillight plate were 1958 only too.
Heres a couple pic of cars with that rear side trim. Most cars had the Fairlane script in that location.
That is my dream car. I want a black '58 Custom 300 2 dr. Is the Custom the same wheel base as the 300? That car looks good!
