well, i decided to do some metal work finishing on the truck. a stray spark ignited my insides of the seat. luckily i got it put out before much else got blazing. so now, i need a seat. i also have alot of smoke damage. its smells awful. really a pretty bad day...
look on the bright side u saved the truck, wich has gotta cost more than a seat... n more importantly u didn't get hurt.
yeah. i know. i`m still pretty bummed. it definetely could have been worse. i could have lost my garage and tools. or my home.
Hell Fire! Buildin a Hot Seat fit for a Hell Bounder? Glad to hear that it didnt get out of hand. Name the weekend when you all can come up, well have a bonfire & cook off some Tires! See ya at Goodguys for sure, if not Beatersville. Ed 2 hrs North
man you have shitty luck! Glad it was no worse than it was. I know you are still bummed though. Stuff like this will really take the wind out of your sail. Keep your head up!
yep. i was just sitting here thinking the same thing. this truck is jinxed...i fix one thing and break two.... i did drive this thing to speedway and back wednesday with no problems at all.
I assume you don't have any fabric in the truck other than the seat right? Removing that and then wiping down the interior with some fabreze or a citrus cleaner should help a lot. Maybe leave a bag of oranges studded with cloves inside under your new seat too? Sorry about that and glad to hear it wasn't worse. The actual metal of the seat wasn't damaged was it? If so, a friend and I recently picked up a rough 54 chevy truck for parts and what not. The seat obviously needs new pads and upholstery, but if you needed the seat, we could figure something out.
Dang that sucks! Wrench, Drive, Repeat..... stick the seats out of the Cherokee in there until a new seat is found.
Hey, for the smoke smell, check out a few of the water and fire restoration services that insurance companies use for fire damage. Many have ozone machines large enough to roll a car or small/standard size truck in. Get the residue off the dash and anything else you're keeping in the truck. The ozone will eliminate the smoke smell. Good luck and glad you weren't hurt.
Dang Monz..... first Walt tries to burn down Bubba's now your torching the truck... See if the O'Navy truck gota seat? Hey, can I paint a Flame Job on it?,,, Glad your OK...
Hey man my neighbor works for a chemical co. here in the Black hills. She gave me some product called Airlift smoke and odor eliminator. This stuff works wonders I had an elec. fire in my garage, I sprayed it around the wire that started the whole mess and within a few days there was no smell.
that really sucks but it could have been alot worse. i know how scary that can be. well now you have a reason for some nice tuck and roll. glad nothing to serious happened.
well, could have been a lot worse, but I guess you can't say it's "never been smoked in" now. probably with a little careful cleaning as mentioned, I am sure it will pretty much go away with a little time.
