First of all I wish to thank Todd "Breeder" for his kind words, (I think they were kind!!) and for all you have offered your words to me of your well wishes for my swift and complete recovery. There have been a couple of other H.A.M.B'ers here that have been aware of what's been going on, Paul aka PovertyFlats, and his wife have helped, **** aka Xderelict.

Several moths ago, when HodRodLadycruiser made a post about a Halloween party she attended in Omaha, I replied in a response, I did what I did for "FOR THE FUN OF IT".

This time, I am not doing it for the fun of it, I ***ure you. It is something to take serious, but I believe I did catch mine in time, and am getting treated before it's had a chance to really spread.

Yes the side effects are pretty much like you may have heard. Sunday, I was finially able to get the potatoes that had been stuffed up my tail pipe out. Boy that sure did help. I thought the ole internal muffler was going to pop. The internal back pressure was really a building up. But from time to time, I sort of feel like I'm running on 7 cylinders, and and have got a load of bad gas.

This is only round 7 in a 10 round bout. I've been beat up, ****er punched, knocked down a few times, kidney punched, a few scars, some broken bones a few bumps and bruises, sewn back together in a few places But have managed to be patched up to continue another round in what ever is thrown my way.

I've got a car now with a puke can for the radiator over flow and a barf bucket beside me to go for a drive. Except I really haven't felt like going for a drive yet.

But a couple of things I'd like to p*** on to all of you and that is...there is always someone who is worse off than you are. There are several others out here in H.A.M.B land that are by far worse off than I am. Think of them too. Give a prayer for all of those you have not heard about, and pray for their recovery.

Many of you are vets. Take a day and go to a VA hosp, and volunteer, even if it's to get some one a jug of water. Those guys in there are sure in more need than I am.

With all this high price gas, have a get together out on the drive at a VA hospital, or even a local nursing home. Those guys sure do appreciate seeing your rides out there, and if some of them can get out side, the old timers will probably give you an ear full of what their rides were like back in the day. And it's an excuse for all to get out together in one spot at one time. If some of you did that for me, then that would be more than enough to make me feel better.

Mick, I'm still sort of on hold to see if I can get down your way for the StrayKats this week-end.

As far as the Rust Revival, I'll be there. Plans are for my daughter "Lil' HellRaiser" to drive the "HellRaiser" over and I'll follow in another car, my New 1952 Olds. If I can't drive, then I'll ride and let Lil' HellRaiser do the driving for me.

So in conclusion, thank you all who have offered your well wishes.

Be safe out there on the road, and keep the wheels between the ditches. Don't try and p*** me, or the race will be on.:)

    Sincerely,

    HellRaiser

Dallas, looks like we'er in the same boat, except I get my dose every three weeks. You've already got her beat, that at***ude thing, an a little hotrodding to keep our minds straight. Keep me posted.......We can share different potatoe removing procedures. And you'll be in my prayers, OLY
BTW this past weekend my little cancer team earned $2600.00 towards cancer research, don't know final total but there where 12 teams.

    The cancer car lives
    Give to cancer research

  10. HellRaiser you've got the biggest thing that will help you get thru this and that's your at***ude. Raise hell with that bad boy and you can beat him. Good luck on a speedy recovery and do what you're told - don't skimp on the treatments - to paraphrase what they say "if they don't kill you, they'll make a better HellRaiser out of you!"

    Good luck,

    Dennis & Sue (a 6 year Survivor!)

You the man HR! Keep your spirits up, because no matter what happens to your body, your spirit is what sustains you.

Just a word, maybe an idea here. In our family, every time we find out someone we know has "the rust" we donate to cancer research. If we spent half of what is spent on new drugs for pleasure (******, etc) on cancer research, I think we could find cures for many of these illnesses. My father in law and brother in law are both such afflicted, and are fighting hard.

I have my inspiration for today, thank you HellRaiser! I am going to call them both today.

Dallas ol' buddy, it sure is good of you to think about others who might be worse off than you. After my Dad got sick and p***ed away recently you were real helpful to me. From now on, I just want to enjoy life. I think about your catch phrase alot........."for the fun of it". See you along the way. Paul.

Well, I've been called out....The gauntlet has been dropped...I hear they're gunning for the "HellRaiser" tomorrow night. So be it!!!!

I guess I'll have to take on all comers. OK. Just hope the rain that's predicted for tonight and tomorrow p***es before evening comes.

I'm up for it, I just won't eat anything tomorrow, so I won't puke all down the track.:p

For the most part I'm doing OK. Still having trouble getting a good night rest, the ole nausea usually comes on around midnight. So have really been watching what I eat. Haven't had any potatos stuffed up the tail pipe since the first week. I get tired, which is expected, but at least I don't have to go to work, so I can stay home and take naps. Good thing I had started losing my hair when I was a lot younger, It's starting to go now, but you can't tell.:D

I had to have my son-in-law come over last week end to help me take the front end out from under the Olds. Just poops me out, or else it would take me a week just to change a tire.

Poverty...you can p*** on to the Mrs. the whites are down, the reds are steady, but the platelets are just above borderline, so I'm now on anti-biotics.

But guys, (and gals) on the serious side for a minute. It doesn't matter how old you are, or what shape you think you're in, this ole "C" can get you any time, and it could be in any number of places or kind of "C". So do youself and your family a great big favor, and have a good check up and get screened. Cause if you do....Then you can go to the track, and say. "Come one, or come all...I'll take you on.....You might win the race, but I'll be back another day to do it again"....

Our car club Pair A Dice Cruisers does an anual car show at a local nursing home and we put on a bar b que for the residents. For most of us, it is the best event of the year.
    Also good local PR

I lost my dad to lung cancer a year ago last December. He just found it in a chest x-ray and in 6 weeks he was gone, he was supposed to start chemo in three weeks. My father in law and brother in law both have skin cancer.

Giving to research is very high on our list of priorities, and with my wife an I getting close to the 50 mark, we are getting the screenings done. I have some spots in my brain they ware keeping an eye on, but they think it will probably wind up as MS and not cancer. Hope springs eternal.

Bless you man for sharing your story, and our thoughts are with you.

Dallas, this is the first I have seen this thread. I had heard that something was trying to get you down, but you were giving it all Hell. I am glad that you have such a strong will. I am truely glad that I can call you a friend, and that you will be here to rub some of your great personality this way.

I just came in from trying to find some of the unleashed power in my race vehicle and came across this message from you, very insperational. Just because you beat me tomorrow, doesnt mean I let you win.

Hold your head up good man, see ya tomorrow.

    Jeff
