Does anyone remember a small diameter custom (aftermarket) steering wheel that had a real deep offset? By that I mean the mounting flange was maybe 7 or 8 inches lower than the rim itself. I'm looking for one of these for a little progect I'm working on.

  2. I used to put them on go karts. I remember them well if you mean the ones with the black foam or plastic rim. I also had a chain one.If I come across one I,ll nab it.

Yeah, I remember them, popular with the T bucket guys with the straight up bus style steering. The lowrider guys had em too and I've seen them on Egay- try searching-- steering wheel: lowrider, rat rod, Superior(brand name) etc.

  4. My chain steering wheel ended up on my sons bike.....

  5. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have in my small wheel colection a green metalflake superior 500 thats 9 inches in diameter and has a 4inch dish. It's the last little wheel I have left , and I can't remember the last time I saw one anywhere. You could probably find the black foam ones or the chrome chain ones but I think the metalflake ones are pretty much extinct!! Mike

Speedway is again selling the small chain wheels with the deep dish. Sorry but I can't remember the price. I had one of the 9" black plastic coated ones in my dune buggy back in 68":D
