I have a 1954 chrysler where i put a different chassis under the car. I cut the temp gauge line, and the fuel gauge runs on 6 volts, the spedo also has a different connector, where can i send the temp gauge to get a new line? where can i send the fuel gauge to have it work in a 12 volt system? and where can i send the spedo? please help thanks Tim http://www.flickr.com/photos/13359133@N05/1695829595/
There is a place called APT in Bloomington MN, had them redo all my gauges for the Buick, amp to volt, 6 to 12, etc, not fast, not cheap, but they do nice work. 9632 Humbolt Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431 952 881 7095
No place is cheap. If you want top quality and fast too... Classic Instruments will replace all the internals with electronic stuff and refinish the faces as original or in any colors or designs you want. They are HAMB Alliance members too. www.classicinstruments.com
Do the temp gauge yourself- it's easy: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=228272&highlight=temperature A voltage drop for the fuel gauge is cheap and easy- Speedway and many other vendors have them. The speedo cable fitting can be redone by your local speedo shop. Take the speedo with you when you go. I just did all the above on my 38 Chrysler. Piece o' cake.
AutoInstruments in Virginia. i've done several stories with them; top quality stuff. He can update the electrics, convert from 6 to 12 volt, do custom gauge faces and colors, and rechrome plastic chrome trim as well. (276) 634-0110 -Brad
