I'm all for a little friendly shit talking just to wake things up a bit. (sometimes it gets boring hearing everyone in agreement)

If you want to flip the coin over and present another view, cool but you add nothing!
Your a total horses ass! you should speak to people on here like you would in person. (if you can't back your shit up, shut up)

You seam like the kind of guy that would key a car, flip someone off, kick a puppy then drive away real fast. Your hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

Maybe mama puled you off the teet to soon and you need the attention...

I think you know your a coward, I saw your profile.

I think everyone's pretty much hit the nail on the head. Here's a couple other fun things to do: Go white water rafting down the American River, great fun and a nice way to stay cool. Book a fishing trip in the Bay or out at the Faralons, rock cod season's coming on soon.

Vern/Keith Tardel are over in Santa Rosa...............would be a day trip to go over and check them out.

Also, I'm about 2 hours north of SacTown and should be firing up the flathead about then, love to have help.

Oh yes, when you talk about being hot in California.....................in the North Valley we can have weeks of temperature in the triple digits!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that is why we have air conditioning in the garage and "misters" by the pool.

    ..."misters" by the pool...
ok, that sounds gay. Just kidding.

Personally, I've lived in the Pacific Northwest, Socal, the Philippines and Europe. But I always come back to sac. (Wow, that sounded gay too.)

    Back on track,
About 30-45 east of Sac off I80 is Auburn. The second friday of the month there is cruise night in 'downtown' Auburn.

He's moved up in the world! He's livin' in a truck by the lake!!

    One more thing...
    Please don't call it "Cali".
To a "Native" it sounds like a garden rake being dragged across a chalkboard!

There are plenty of very cool things to do around Sacramento as mentioned, but I would say definitely hit Santa Maria if you can make it. If you are this close, it would be a shame to miss it.

And then since you are that way, hit up Hearst Castle and Monterey Bay and see the aquarium. Drive Hyw 1 along the coast!

Sorry about the "Cali" bit. Must be similar to my relatives from Oregon that hate it when people say it like "ore-gone."

Holy cow, theres alot going on. Exciting!

A Chopped Coupe, I don't know my way around a flathead very well yet, but I'm learning and It'd be fun to hang out.

Hombres Ruin, I don't know if I'll get down to San Diego again, but I'll look you up if I do!

Thanks again guys, appreciate the heads up on all this. Plates getting full!

There's a "car show" everynight in June somewhere in Modesto.

The largest might be by The North Modesto Kiwanis this June 6, 7, & 8.

    You can register at WWW.northmodestokiwanis.org

Modesto is about 80 miles south of Sacto.

Give me a PM and I'll give you my phone number and address.

    LMAO

C'mon, that was funny. I didn't mean to start a war you guys. When it comes down to it, I'm sure deep down all Californians get along.

I wish I could drive my "A" or my Chevelle out there, I'll just have my park avenue. Boring, but comfy and efficient.
Cruising my Chevelle on the PCH after picking it up in Oceanview was the drive of a lifetime. . . until driving through San Francisco with one front brake adjusted tighter than the other

I've been out of town so I'm a little late on this. I think everybody covered most of the things to do. Let me know when you get here and we can hook up for a local show or something. If you get a chance, pick up the Crusin' News for all the local weekly and monthly shows. I've got an extra if you want one.

And, of course, you'll have to come to Midnight Mass. We have the pre party, the show and the after party. Save some leave for a day or two after for recovery.

I really didn't hear anything good about last year's Rock N' Rod in Monterey... and I havent really seen any publicity (and I live 20 mins away) for this years event... Last year it rained, I didn't go so I don't really know if it was a good show...

Pleasenton is a lot closer to Sacramento.. here's the info I got off the good guys site..

    15th Summer Get-Together
    May 31 & June 1
    Pleasanton Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, CA
Event Features: Over 2,500 rods customs & classics, muscle cars and trick trucks of all years, makes & models, vendor exhibits, huge swap meet & cars for sale corral, model car & pedal car show and lots more family fun!

Choptop has a good list going there...

If you get strapped for time:

Lake Tahoe - Emerald Cove, Meeks Bay, Sugar Pine - they're all right around eachother.

Sugar Pine has this very cool mansion and a huge dock that walks you out about 100 yards over the clear blue water. You can jump off it 10 feet down to the water or lay on it and watch the bikinis stroll by as you soak in the sun.

Meeks Bay is fairly popular and you will see quite a few sights there as well.

Emerald Cove is historic, has a cool little castle like structure out on a tiny little island in the middle of the bay.

To get there you turn right when you roll into Tahoe City and go about 10 to 15 miles...all three are right around there.

San Francisco - perfect time of year for this. Stroll pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf...eat the fresh crab and sourdough bread.

Also in San Fran - The Planetarium, The Aquariums and The Exploratorium and the Museum of Natural History (dinosaur skeletons, etc...)...all very cool and worth the visit.

Napa - wine country, beautiful...take a tour if you can.

Train Museum...downtown Sac. Cool historic stuff...

If you only have limited time your top priorities should be Lake Tahoe for the beauty and bikinis and San Fran for the experience of the city.

Have fun...PM me if yor have any questions...

BTW: about ONE hr northeast of Sacramento is Grass Valley (about 1 hr before Tahoe)...it's a neat historic town - gold rush days. They still have gas lit lamps on the streets. They have street fairs every Wednesdaya dnFriday nights where they close down the streets and people just gather for music, food etc... In Nevada City which is about 5 minutes east of Grass Valley they have something called Hot Summer Nights where they easily get 2,000 plus people raoming the streets. A quick trip up from Sac and a nice break from the heat...

Hey Retarded, I will agree it is very hot in the summer. But don't be made just because the enviro-crowd wont let you take up residence on the river bank. By the way, loved your banjo playing in Deliverance. Say "hi" to Uncle Dad

I haven't seen any posts about the racing around here but there is a lot if you enjoy that. For drags there is the Sacramneto raceway and infineon over by Sonoma which is about 2 hours west. If you like roundy rounds, one of the fastest 1/4 mile dirt tracks in the west is at the Placerville fair grounds, with some awesome sprinter action, thats about 45 minutes west on hwy 50. Real close is the asphalt track at the Placer County fairgrounds in Roseville, just rebuilt and a little bigger than a 1/4. They have NASCAR west series often and this Saturday(tomorrow night) the USAC sprints are running, be some really hot shoes there. The world of outlaws swings by Chico and also lots of sprinter action there. And that about 1 1/2 hours north. For the big boys, Nascar will be at Infineon the weekend of June 20th through 22nd. All these tracks have web sites if you just google them. Also as previously mentioned the Towe Auto Museum is a great view too.
