studhud, I wasn't flamin ya. Just makin a point. True they only built so many but it's because it was a dog in the showrooms. The Packard 120 was kickin it's *** and was cheaper. If they didn't want it then what's it worth today? The same adjusted for inflation. I know ya were'nt trying to get a rise out of me! Were cool nothing personal just my opinion thats all LTR Dave
build it like the photo................any body can restore a car, make it useful and beautiful like all of your creations!!
OK,here is the real deal, in 1934 and 1935 cadillac was going to drop lasalle they didn't make to many onley 16 to 18 roadsters were built i now how has # 8 they want this one because it is # 5 he offered me $225,000 for it like it set,ok her's my thoughts take the money and run? if i put the same hours in my 40 buick with a chopped carson top and the same cash it's onley worth 80 grand, thats done,as most of you know I built the 41 packard "gable"for D Agostino it got $450.000 dollers now its for sale for $750.00 doller,my point is the some dollers the same hours put into my buick and the lasalle my return is going to be for greater x5 on the lasalle , , I thank the lasalle would bring 500,000 grand +, but thats a chance you take ,if nothing else i'll just have to drive a cool sled, Thanks for all the help------- Later Oz
Who can say what it would go for in $$$ either way??? I am sure its more profitable to make it into a world cl*** custom... much more profitable..That is no real challenge as far as I am concerned... Oz would do a stellar Job..I am sure the concepts are sweet..I am also sure that a coupester would be even more profitable..And a car that only 8 exsist would remain...So what if it was a poor seller when it was new thats what makes rare cars rare most of the time...I feel that the gold chainer I got the RAREST KUSTOM in the world. Is exactly what some power parking fat wallet I got a new toy rich dude is looking for to fill the poor kustomizers pockets full of gold and maybe get them on the discovery channel...I would just go the coupester way my self and sell the roadster for a profit too
Oz. I sent ya a pm last night asking ya what the color of that Green Merc is. Ya I know it is green but, what color, shade, custom? I want to 2 tone my '54 Chrysler w/ 2 greens. KNUX!
ya I gess I might drive them,I have to put new tires on once a year, can you believe that? I dont think I hurt my motor,I ran a compression test all was at 110 psi Thats cool Oz
For what its worth, only a few customs will bring the high high high dollars like the "gable" car or what I suspect the Cole built 36 would bring if it were to be for sale. The car has to look right, be right, and not stray too far into the "why did you do that to that car" realm. I think the LaSalle may be a bit "why did you do that?" I could be wrong though. 53Burb, what is KNUX? I'm old so go easy on me if its an obvious computerism.
Her ya go. It is short for Knuckles, back in my hockey playing days in Toronto, Canada. One of my coachs pinned me with it after a dropping of the gloves with a heavyweight. I earned my stripes in other words. KNUX!
Here's another one i just found http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/263915278.htmlOZ custom this one! LTR Dave
???????????? Your freakin me right the **** out I don't know what else to say 'cept this is one guy that wants it at that figure? Holy ****...
Not 1935, but 1934 LaSalle. I did this sketch couple years ago. Rear bumper is 1942-48 Ford item. Some others in Riksters album: http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/custom_car_graphic_art/janne_kutja_custom/
Seeing as Wicked50 has gotten all excited about getting his post count up and revived this thread.....are there any updates on this one Oz? Did it progress at all?
Oz,as a lover of everything Kustom,as you can tell by my screen name.I would have to say sell it to a restorer. As a member of the national Cad-LaSalle club, and show chairman of one of the fastest growing regions in NewJersey,I would have to say the members would love to see this one at Pebble Beach or Meadowbrook.
First off...I have to say I think very highly of your work, it is always first-rate with great style and flair... Now as for the resto versus cut it up question...I hate to proverbially straddle the fence, but ...could you build a Kustom out of it WITHOUT doing anything irreversible to the more precious bits if someone would want to restore it later? For example, you could set the ch***is, driveline, wheels, suspension, interior bits aside and fabricate new stuff...don't cut it up yet make a super nice custom out of it....then later if someone wants to take it back to stock, they can. You just might be able to have your cake and eat it too...
Kustom....... Kustom.......... Kustom........Hell the other seven can be restored.Show us your magic again and build a true one-off Kreation. We Kustom guys are waiting...TimeBomb John The "Wizard"....... from........ "Oz"...Just my 2 cents
