Blown 49, ever thought of chopping it? I drool over that car from time to time on Butch's site. Part of me thinks it would look killer and the other part thinks it would lose its identity and fall into the vast sea of "every other Merc".
I really like the idea that it looks like it came out of the 50's and also looked like what the average guy could afford. I was raised in Dayton, OH. and only remember one chopped car and that was a black '52 Chev convertable with a carson top. My '48 Chevy coupe was customized but midly back then as well and that was in 1955. Frenched headlights, nosed, decked, door handles, louvered hood and Lincoln tailights along with duals and smithys. Many have told me they like it not chopped so I guess it's a toss-up as to what the car owner likes and wants.
no that one wasn t mine, that was my friend joes merc. we cut that one a couple of years ago. he was sick to his stomach until we got the roof and surrounding metal back on!!!
you mean my motor/trans will be sharing the same space as this!!!! its a sign that the motor NEEDS to be in a merc'..only a 51'
That's just fuckin nuts!!!! New paint and chrome, and that Monarch is worth double what he paid for it!!!! Unbelievable!!!
While this one is up, I will sneak in another update. I thought I already posted these, but guess not.. Before. Now. About 80% done. She will be shiny black by MAYBE end of May... See ya, -Abone.
I clicked on here and all my pic's were gone! So I started re-posting them. Fuck that takes a long time! It's gonna take me a few days,LOL!!!!
Lets go back to New Jersey in the 80s.There were more chopped Mercs cruising the streets at ont time than any other place at any time.Okay I also had to throw in an Ohio pic as well as a car from Mass!~
Glad ya like em!Theres a few thousand more where those came from .The only problem is most of them suck.
I know how you feel. I usually only post the ones I like, cause I don't want to waste anytime defending them,LOL!!
Shit loads from Ohio..at least in the springfield and Dayton Areas!Just think...You had Larry Kramer from Cincinnatti,Charlie Brewer,Kenny Crews,Dallas Ferguson,Jim Walker...
Harry is that the same car? That was the first thing I thought of, but some things looked different. I dont remember the grill cavity molded in nor the rocker. Cool lookin car. Always wanted more pics of that thing.
