Mike Ness (social distortion) played Buck Owen's Crystal Palace last night in Bakersfield. It is the first time I have seen a show there and it was awesome! Great show in a great venue. Anyone else make it? Ness is starting another solo tour, so check his site to see if he'll be coming to your town.
Saw him about three years ago at The El Rey, in LA (Deke Dickerson opened). It was after the first two of his solo albums. It was pretty good. Better than Social D. He is headlining the Hootenanny at Irvine Lake in July. Catch him if you can.
i saw him a few months ago at the House of Blues Orange County. Then a few weeks ago he played a few songs at a birthday party i got invited to in Newport. I had a good time talking with him about cars and bikes after. i always liked his Salinas Boys Chevy and when talk to turned to mercs he pulled up his shirt and showed me the merc tattoo'd on his stomach. Pretty fuckn surreal.
He's playing up here in Baltimore on the 11th. We saw Social D last year in Allentown, PA and Baltimore, MD. Stayed after and hung out with them for a while. Good times.
Damn it... He's going to be here Tuesday next week.... It looks like standing room only. I wonder if my old ass can stand that long?
No bako guys huh? I figured there would have been some HAMBers there. I have seen SD many times over the past 18 years or so. This is the first time I have seen him solo. A much different mood, much better.
I'm going to see Ness at the Depot in SLC later this month. I caught Social D as much as I could back East but I've never been to see him Solo. Should be fun, I love Under the Influence and Cheating at Solitaire.
