My wife picked up a couple of new Hotwheels for my son Joey yesterday... one of them was this baremetal pickup - it even has swapmeet **** in the bed!

    what do you guys think?

welll..the wheels are a bit much, but I like the truck. I wish they'd do this stuff with the real rubber tires they've used before and more proportional wheel/tire ratio - like something you'd see at the dragstrip!!

  5. Cool idea. I'm not real gungho on the execution though. The proportions aren't right. Now if it had a Rat Fink figure in a ******* cab... that might pull it all together.

no offense, but i think that looks like ****e. i have been seeing a lot better models and die casts coming from other companies besides Hotwheels.

besides... they stole the back wheels off of my S10... wtf?

Children should not be allowed to play with toy rods that have bad proportions. Their little minds are still forming.

  8. priceless

  9. I had seen it, and was thinkin' of buying it for just the front wheels. They would look great on my Johnny Lightining 64Falcon wagon/delivery g***er I'm building.

I think it saves a little time for the customizer not having to strip it. :)

Kinda ugly, but most things with 'rat' in the name usually do.

    (Bruce, you are too funny!)

I've seen more and more of this. It's kinda funny to see the hotrod culture slipping into the mainstream. The other day i was at old navy and saw shirts with hot rods and and big screen printed stromberg 97 carb. I couldn't bring myself to buy stuff from places like that though...

I only buy Hot Wheels if they look like the real thing.

I used to pick up quite a few, but since most now look space age (not in a good way) or have some stupid paint scheme or goofy out of proportion tires/wheel, I pick up very, very few these days.

Over the years, I have collected quite a few, but all of the ones I chose pretty much were hot rods or muscle cars in solid colors that looked like they could be dropped into a scale diorama.

I haven't seen one I couldn't live without for 5 years or so...

I don't know man... I think that the ***le is going to stick. After all - the term Hot Rod was resisted at first, too.

You should have heard the Tim Taylor grunt of approval that came out of little 4 year old Joey when he saw it.
