Does anyone remember this car? It was owned by Dick Neilsen and built by himself, Sahagian Customs and painted by Butch as I recall? 55 Tudor, Titian Red, Buick portholes in the hood, '60 Dodge taillights, Pink and White fogged scallops with "Kandyapple Kart" and an Apple with a worm in it on the rear quarters...........Thanks ......Sandpiper
Me too! I'd think some of the Milwaukee Old Timers would have remembered this car! Owner worked at Southgate for several years...I do believe it was repainted Candy Green later...Someone must know this car...Dick was a "Roven Chariots" Member.....
I knew a Dick Neilsen back in the 60"s. He ran a rail job at Great Lakes Dragway. He lived in Brown Deer and worked at Badger Meter. Wonder if its the same guy.
Chuck...I want to be delicate....Dick was real stocky with Black hair...Managed the Badger Paint Store at Southgate...He was my hero for years even though he was probably not more than 10 years older than I....I lost touch when my folks moved to the Southwest part of Milwaukee....I know Dick was never going to leave the game...he was car guy through and through......
No were talking two different fellas.Sure would like to see pictures also.Good luck. PBRME Is the kooolist guy around!!
Thanks Chuck....I had a boatload of pics and gave them to a friend....He passed away and his widow never could find them......Rats!
the old man couldn't remember the kandyapple kart but he brought up a 56 chev gasser called "stanley steamer" we're looking for pictures if any one has pictures of that it would be awesome
Thats ironic when I was about 12 years old,1965. The koolest guy in the word lived just down the block from me.Dick Nelson had a dragster and push started it on the street. At that age it was the biggest thing in my life. It changed me for ever.He even let me sit it it once.I never heard anything that loud.I remember his buddies had some cool hotrods too. I got my dad to take my to Great Lakes dragway after that. This guy was a great influance in my life.Thank for stirring up good memories. Chuck
I just acquired about 200 photos of the custom car shows in the Milwaukee area. Some of the photos are early 60's, most are mid 60's to early 70's. Did the owner display the car at car shows? When? If, he did, I will see if the 55 Ford is in any of the pics. Curt R
Turns out that the car may have been built at what was known as Cudahy Auto Body and not Sahagians in South Milwaukee. Sure would be nice to see some of those photos Joe.....I'll just keep askin.....Centurion9
