After weeks of fighting with my parking lights and dash lights not working properly, I finally got it all straightened out. Replaced the $40 So-Cal headlight switch with an identical unit for my local NAPA style store for $13. Everything is lit and stays lit when it ought to.

I also hung four doors in the house that have been taking up space in the garage for far too long, like two years. Glad to get that monkey off my back.

Yesterday, Stevo and I went to a local little car show, (read muscle car and lowrider gathering) and decided to park my coupe outside the roped off area. With-in minutes of getting out of the coupe, there was a steady stream of folks leaving the show area to check out my car. We thought it was pretty funny.

But the biggie was I went to my son's Masters Graduation ceremony. Now he has two degrees and is more convinced then ever that he knows everything.

Saturday I did a "Shelby Drop" on my 63 Falcon Wagon.

Got rid of 4.5 degrees of positive camber angle!

My father and I made an attempt to get my Speedster running again (wouldn't start the day after driving it into the garage).

First, thought it was points and put a new point set in.

No spark, double checked gap, still no spark.

Put in new electronic ignition, still no spark.

Hooked up controller for new ignition correctly (hey, now there's spark!).

Set timing, checked fuel flow before starting, no fuel flow from electric fuel pump.

After looking over options for new 6V fuel pump, checked flow again (now there's flow!).

Guessing now there is crap in the tank from somewhere and I'll have to remove the tank and flush it. It's a poly tank strapped to 2 2X10s so it shouldn't be too hard.)

Attempt to start after hooking fuel line back up, she starts momentarily but starter arcs badly enough where the sparks come up through the floorboard. (time to replace starter with one I have "in stock" and rebuild this one, but that'll be next weekend.)

Car still hasn't run for a week and a half, and I have a dual downdraft intake manifold to put on that sucker, just gotta get the electric/gas problems sorted out first.

Saturday, Helped the wife haul a bunch of stuff into town to sell at a friends garage sale, Went to an action, built a new ramp for the car hauler to replace the one I lost when delivering a car a couple weeks ago, went and picked up the 51 Stude PU I bought last week. Sunday, took the seat out of the Stude and blew all the dirt and mouse crap out of the cab and doors, Sprayed it all down with simple green and let it set then washed the 15 yr accumulation of tree sap and bird crap off it and took an inventory of parts needed. Cleaned up pretty good i think.

Mowed dug some holes for the new fence grocery shopped with the wife and hung out with her yesterday

  13. I got served by the city to clean up the spot between my garage and my neighbors, and to do a ton of repairs to the garage that I was going to tear down at the end of the summer and replace when my NHF car sells.

So I spend saturday in the rain filling my truck with garbage only to find the restof the city got the same notice and all were at the dump trying to clean up also. They closed stopped letting people in line when they had 200(!) cars waiting outside to get rid of their trash!

I also took a bunch of old tires to the tire guy to dispose of that I have been meaning to get rid of, and got a flat plugged. Not to mention cut up all the brush, cut up all the old fence posts I pulled out, and trimmed the trees.

Sunday I went to my new shop and got everything straightened out for the lease, and cleared the remaining junk out of it (ice fishing hut and 12,000 basswood strips for stretching mink furs on!), and cleaned and painted the floor with the nastiest smelling paint ever.

I also got the plugged tire on the truck, and managed to get a nail in another one, so the spare just go moved around on the spot. I also got all the scrap metal into the scrap metal bin.

Other than that I got nothing done.

I brought home the Cushman Truckster that I bought from the neighbor for $300.00, went to the Hi-Po Swap Meet in Log Beach and scored a dual plenum high rise no-name manifold for my 351W for 100 bucks (NIB), and a Holley double-pumper like new for 40 smackeroos.
Now all I have to do is rebuild the Cushman motor, finish putting together the 351W, and paint em both. Next weekend.+++:D

Welded some patches on the sand-blaster at work. Saw IRONMAN - fucking sweet.

Mowed and raked my 1.25 Acre lawn. Made a dumprun to get the shop organized for my chassis build.

Ate some pizza. Drank some beer. Filmed a short film to send to the FX channel so my comedy group might win that $40,000 contest and a chance at a TV show.

    Long fuckin weekend. Loved it.

I pulled the grille, bumper, splash panel and pass front fender off the Comet then pulled the bend out of the core suport. I pulled the splash panel off my parts car, straitened, painted it and installed it on the Comet and reassembled the Comet parts. It still needs a lot of body work but at least the big bow is out of the fiberglass fender.

Went to Nats South in Knoxville and met the one and only Denise and her dad Jim. Great people ...just like I knew they would be. Did manage to pick up my u-joints and shaft for my steering. Oh yeah got a new HAMB sticker for it at the Meet and Greet for when it hits the road!

I dont get much done on National Guards weekend. I did finally get my NEW 500 CFM Edelbrocks (2) to replace the pair of 600's Carters. The Poison Ivy is bad, so once that clears up they are going on .
