I have got a friend who works on Facel Vega's
    [IMG]
and he is looking for a part to convert a wiper arm pivot from a round shape to the later style spline wiper pivot. It is basically a sleeve which slides over the round shaft of a wiper arm pivot and it gets mounted with 1 or 2 set crews and changes the pivot shaft over to spline to which you can mount a later style wiper arm.
He has seen the part on some facel vega's imported from the USA but we cannot find a source for this part.
Anybody ever seen something like this?
    Thanks
    Rik

So the part may be of USA origin?
If so it is likely a Trico or Anco adapter...they made a lot of adapters that were sold through gas stations and garages to allow newer model replacement arms to fit older cars or to allow Trico parts to fit an Anco installation or the other way around. Wiper parts cabinets of the old days, the fifties and sixties, had trays full of little gadgets.
You need to track down suppliers of wiper parts...ony one I can actually direct you to is Fikken or Ficken in New York. There are others I see at big shows...perhaps they advertise in Hemmings.

Sorry for the late reply. Jim32 called and told me about this thread. I just completed a 3 year frame off restoration of a Facel Vega FV4. He thought I was the only one on the HAMB to play with one of these.
As far as the wiper hardware and transmissions they are not Anco or Trico. Arms were Triplex, blades were Magna, motor and switches were Autolite .The original parts were made in Britian and some wiper parts are shared with other British cars of the period ( Aston, Jaguar, Rolls ). Motor and switches are shared with period Chryslers. The Facels used a couple of different wiper transmissions in the FV and HK series. Most FVs and early HKs used a smooth shaft transmission but they came in both 4mm and 6mm diameters. Later HKs had a splined shaft. As far as vendors go for parts. The british vendors such as Moss Motors have replacement parts but be warned they are Chinese in manufacture and the quality is not up to the standard of the Facel. Matt at Reoriginals in Houston was able to supply me with the parts I needed for my car. A bit pricy but they were correct and NOS. ( www.reoriginals.com ) you can also try Hans Ruhe in the Hague , Netherlands. ( www.amicalefacel.nl ) Hans is the international Facel expert. His restoration shop keeps a good supply of parts for most Facels but be aware . The europeans will use anything to keep it running . Be very specific about what you want before ordering . ( Nos , Good oem used , No Chinese). If you need any further help give a call or drop a PM.
Over the last 3 years I've learned a lot about these cars and they have some interesting pequliarities.
I would like to contact your friend regarding his Facel just to compare notes on a couple of items.
    Sincerely
