I am looking to purchase a 65 c20. Here is my issue I don't dig the 3/4 ton look. What is my best bet here? Convert to 5 lug? Cover lugs with hub cap? P*** on the truck, and look for another? Keep in mind I need to do this on a budget, and have no problem pulling a wrench. Thanks for the help guys.

  2. why dont you just find what you really want , i wouldnt settle for something less , i have done it to many times before and in the end its just a waste of time and dough..

Unless you have unlimited access to free parts, I would recommend getting what you want. 5 bolt conversions aren't very hard, (nor are 6 bolt) but remember the whole suspension will be setup for 3/4 ton so all of it will have to be changed.

I've got a 65 C20 also, and I kinda like the eight-lugs, etc. I'd say put on some hubcaps and see how you like it.

...we put a 1972 undercarrage under this truck it amounted to a "bolt in" situation with a plus of power steering and power brakes,ALL bolt on!! the trick is finding a 1972 or before 1/2 ton that you can use.go to the website that was described earlyer...good people that WILL help.I did this one,so if you need advise ,(E)-mail me I'll be glad to help.

With all that said. The truck has some late model chevy alloy wheels on it. Where can I find a set of steel wheels and hubcaps?
    Thanks for the help everyone!

Its not a big deal to swap out suspensions for a newer 5 lug, and you even get the discs for the front rather than drums with a 73-87 setup.
