Hi, We are a young couple from Pawtucket, RI and recently returned from Viva and enjoyed all the west coast cars, kulture and people... we were looking for something similar in California. If anybody has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Mike and Billie
Hi there.... I used to live in Tiverton and worked in Newport...for whatever THAT is worth! The best California experience, in my opinion, is the California Hot Rod Reunion, in October. It is an event you will long remember.
hi there the ink and iron festival is on in june the 6,7,8th,at the queen mary in long beach, santa maria on memorial day weekend, and if you want to come down to san diego pm me and we will hook it up,lots of **** to do down here.
californy is the place to be , just load up the truck and head to beverly!! seriously i lived there from 62-74 cool state with lots to do and see , best of luck ..
Are you going to drive out, or fly and rent a car? How long are staying? NorCal, SoCal or San Diego? if your budget allows see all of it.....
I had done this a couple times from South Carolina and for me ... the best all round California show is the LA Roadster Show on Father's Day weekend. It is huge and folks fly to LA for it from Europe, Australia and such. In addition to all the roadsters, there is the swap meet and the large amount of " other rides " all @ Pomona. So-Cal even has their open house on the LA Roadsters weekend. They even shut down the street in front of So-Cal for parking it is such a event. I like to take I-40 ... go thru the middle of the country. Nashville has some neat things to see and do ... and then there is Memphis. Once you cross the Mississippi ... and ride a little the Grand Canyon is not far off I-40 , then Las Vegas is only a short drive from the Grand Canyon. After doing LA, and all the LA has to see ( Hollywood, the beach, Beverly Hills ect ) we like to go up the coast via the beach Highway and see the coast ... all the way to San Fransico. My wife and I did this last summer ( 7000 miles and 25 days ) ... and may do it again this summer ... if gasoline does not go to 5 dollars a gallon.
i would have to say if you want an event like VLV than Ink and Iron is the one for you. tattoos, music, bad *** cars and booze for three days. if you have any questions just pm me. http://www.ink-n-iron.com/
