Here is our progress after starting in Mid-January with a rusted out body only. We've chopped it 5 and a half inches and will be channeling probably 4 inches. Before anyone runs us out of town, yes it is a chev small block, but hey at least its a stroker... 383... Does that help? Oh and a 700R4 trans, definitely not traditional I know, but everything else is going to be (pay no attention to the discs up front ), so go easy on us... Neither of us has built a traditional hot rod before, hell, any hot rod for that matter. Comments, opinions??? How are we doin?
Some F-100 or Buick drums would be the hot ticket, everything else looks pretty good. And just say no to electric fans...
Good advice, we'll look into those. Are they pretty easy to find? Yes, that's the tire and wheel combo we're running, is it not a good combo or something? The wheels will be getting painted and will probably run some baby moons...
F1 and F-100 brakes are pretty common, check the H.A.M.B. cl***ifieds. The wheel/tire combo is sweet, will look great if you paint them the same color as the body and put on some spider caps and rings, or just chrome lugnuts and rings. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235570&showall=1
Nothing wrong with the SBC, but you could ditch the chrome valve covers for a more 'traditional' finned aluminum or something. Looks good otherwise. Pete
Thanks for the compliments and advice so far. Yeah we are thinking different valve covers will be in order, one of those finishing touches once everything is all together...
Man, you ****ed that poor thing up so bad ... the only solution is to throw in the towel and let me take it off your hands while there's still time. For real, though ... that's AWESOME.
You are right, what were we thinking... What is a good shipping address? Those are the only pics we have so far... Anything in particular you'd like to see and I can get some tonight...
Well there isn't exactly an interior yet, no floor, but I can take some pictures of the engine placement. Leaving town for Vegas, but I'll get some when I get back...
