I was on my way home from work, and saw the front of a car down an alley by my house. As I drove by, I could see that it was a 3w. So I hung a u-turn and grabbed my camera for some pic's. It was a 35 Chevy, 3w Coupe. All original and looks like it's untouched. I couldn't get a hold of the guy, so I don't have any details. I took a pic of the forsale sign, in case any of you want more info. I don't have the extra cash right now, but I thought maybe A HAMBer might be interested. NOT connected in any way, just trying to p*** on a good deal... Here's the pic's...
$17,900 OBO!!! It's located in Yorba Linda. The pic of the interior didn't come out, because of the reflection off the gl***. Looked all original. The nicest thing about the car is, that everything is there!!! Don't know if it runs though...
Bob. The way things have been going on lately with cars getting jacked, you might want to tell the guy to not leave it on the street like that. I could see a trailer or ball hitch hooking right up to it. Just a thought and just to give him (owner) the heads up.I have heard and so have others on here of cars gettting jacked right out of the driveways even out of their garages. KNUX!
You've got some damn nice alleys where you live. Paved, named, and nice stonework. Our alleys are mostly dirt with a little gr*** growing between the tire tracks. And nice car, too!
I have a feeling it belongs to the house that it was in front of. The guy who lives there has two Camaros and an old Vette. Must be a Chevy guy...
Wow. What a rare find.... Someone needs to buy that thing and do a good 'cl***ic' restoration..... I like rat rods, but I hope no one cuts this rare beauty up...
It's pretty straight too!!! I'd hate to see it go to a Streetrodder......If it runs, i'd leave it like it is and drive it!!!!
There are some of those 3w in Mexico still,in solid conds...not common but found some around...nice lines!
If you know how much wood it is in those cars...... I am doing one similar right now. Add 10k or months in steel framing fabrication. But yes they are good looking, but he fabrication involved to get a solid car is intimidating.
Nice dry cars like that appears to be most likely won't have rotted wood and will still be pretty solid. I doubt a person would need to replace the wood in that to be a good useable car.
that car is sweet. and as for the wood... uh.. look at the pictures. I'd say all the wood is still good.
