For anyone that remembers or was following the build of my 55 g***er. Here's a few pic's from the guy I sold it to. He finished it off made a few changes and is now driving and racing it. Said it ran 12.87 with the small block I had in it and is now swapping out the small block for a 600 H.P. big block. This one hurts a little. Gary
hey, ya sold it ,got your money ,and it looks like it's in good hands.. I had a 55 also, and sold it to a guy who put a 409 in it,and the thing is "killer". I have no regrets sellin' mine, 'cause it went to a good home..looks and runs hard.
Car looks bad*** - and it doing what it is meant to do. Don't regret it man - although I feel your pain. Had some regrets about selling some of my stuff too. Mike
Ah the famous 55. Man that would be a hard one to sell. But look what it is in the garage instead. The 40 will be just as awesome if not cooler.
Obviously went to a good home, and a great guy. No regrets, it's not like a 32 3 window, there are other 55's out there, just would be fun bangin gears through the 1/4 mile in it a few times. ( money in the bank is good too ) Gary
GOD thats beautiful ! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=442807&d=1210124707
That is a beautiful 55, it looked great in person. I wish you would have kept it so we all could have seen it run and drive. Now that I think about it that was a pretty selfish move, selling before we got to see it drive (we didn't get any of the money!!!!!). Great looking car. I can't wait to see the 40. Don't sell it before it is done. DAVE
Thanks Dave, the 40's not going anywhere. Hope to see you with your brother and his little friend at the Rust Revival. Gary
I've been trying to get my brother to paint his '55 black w/gold heavy metal flake top and gold in the middle of the Belair trim. Now I can show him!
Gary, quit crying in your captain crunch, let it go for gods sake & get over to my house(in Omaha) & help me work on my '55 G***ER. Although I am diggin what that guy did with your old g***er & I'm liken that gold metal flake on the roof too. Come on man, I'm out there every nite killen myself. Pretty harsh for My first post Huh! Dan
What all you guys in Omaha got kool stuff? Cool cars. Cool music...... I might have to move out there. Dang it.
Wow Dan, looks great. I need to show you an old picture of Mike Dailys 55 sitting in the pits at Cornhusker Raceway ( circa 1970-72 ) I dug up the other day. Ya might think about an intro. Gary
Gary, I'll show you mine if you show me yours, Hey, Wait a minute, that didn't come out right. Anyway here's a picture of Mike Daly & his "55". And those wheels that we didn't think would work, Got'em last week & I think they are going to be alright. Dan
yea thats gotta make ya cry...but like they said ..at least is in good hands and tearing up the track...
For what it's worth I was there that day racing too. I walked over to see him in the staging lanes while we waited for the call. The car looks great...nice work. The owner was making his first p***es ever (I think) and he had a ball with your old car. Nice! -Scott
Ya might think about an intro. Gary[/quote] Gary, what exactly is an INTRO. Dan and I do want to see that picture.
An intro is suppose to be your first post when signing on, gives everyone an idea what your all about. Btw, Great G***er, I was thinking that a Flake roof on one of these would be great, just waiting till I get mine one day(bought the Merc instead)
Oh **** thats cool. In the one I have it has the panel paint job and 2 nickels over-lapping each other on the side. I'm not smart enough to scan it on here, I'll stop over at your house one night. Gary
